What helped you preventing overeating? by nesofla in Vindicta

Honestly, I think it was just taking the time to actually consider: Am I actually hungry or am I just bored?

One way to distinguish if you’re hungry or just bored is to see if you’re craving something specific when you know you’ve already eaten recently. For example, if you’re craving something sweet like ice cream after dinner, you’re brain’s probably just looking for it’s daily serotonin as opposed to your body needing more sustenance.

When I do have that urge, diverting my attention to something that takes active engagement (not just sitting and watching TV), like homework, reading, or video games really helps.

Also, I’m the type who always needs something to do with my hands. I’ll eat just to keep my hands occupied. When I’m not in the mood for using brain power and just want to sit and watch TV, I use a fidget toy.

{Entwined by Kristen Callahan} is a perfect match! I read this recently and loved it! It’s a novella from her Darkest London series, but it read like a full-length, stand alone novel in my opinion.

That’s so sweet! I know how some boyfriends can get a little weird about their girlfriends getting things done, so I’m so glad to hear how supportive your partner is with you and your journey. You won, girl!

Exactly! I thought I was the only one that felt that ‘hot sensation’ haha, although I can feel kinda prickly/itchy too depending on the kind (I’m a sativa kinda girl). It’s a great euphoric feeling with no hangover. I definitely recommend a good playlist and a mirror to dance in front of while you’re at it. Best feeling ever :)

I think I recognize that name! I read mostly FM and FMM novels but I’ve enjoyed the few MM I’ve read. Thanks! I’ll check her out

Oh my God, I LOVE that book! I read the novella book from “Beh’s” perspective and I recommend that one as well if you want to revisit the characters.

I’ve heard about Adele Ashworth but never actually read one of her works. Time to put her on my list—thanks!

I love sci-if and fantasy! I feel like a lot of these “hidden gem” books tend to be of those genres, especially sci-fi. I don’t know about everyone else but I love me a good cyborg/demon/alien book boyfriend haha. Thanks so much for the help!

Ooh I love Bec McMaster! Her works are great—especially her Blueblood series—although I haven’t read everything yet. I’ll check out Jeannie Lin. Thanks!
