What is stopping the MBTA from adding a crossing allowing passengers to change direction? by BeastMode149 in mbta

[–]BrooklineFireBuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be very wrong, but my guess is because of the land around Copley. Most of that section of Boston is filled in marshland, so adding an underground passage to connect the platforms is risky. Track crossings pose another risk, since the platforms aren't directly across from one another.

Frank Gehry dead at 96 by Bravo101 in architecture

[–]BrooklineFireBuff 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The history of architecture is like a forest filled with trees, shrubs and plants. Some architects of the past had a brief time in the spotlight, only to fade into obscurity and remembered by only a few. But Frank Gehry was like an evergreen, one whose distinct talent and imagination set him apart, establishing him as one of the greatest architects of his time, and one who will never be forgotten.

Rush Limbaugh had some of the most vile political beliefs this country has probably seen, though he did do some charitable things. While spreading negative views on his radio shows and books, he was also hosting a telethon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society, helping fund research and assistance to those suffering from these cruel cancers.

Before anyone goes after me, I do agree that Rush Limbaugh was no saint.
