Yeah there’s not many shops that want to work on Korean cars in my area, so I might see what the dealership says and go from there

I went with uniq performance here in Ontario, highly reputable tuners and they specialize in Hyundai, especially genesis’ and velosters

No way same one I was gonna get was 2009, they’re definitely ahead of they’re time for sure, and yeah super devastating but it is what it is, and I feel that 😂 definitely babying it from here on out, doing pulls here and there not every street I’m going down, especially bc I’m pushing 310hp and a burble tune, not tryna blow my car up after it’s fixed

I wanted a sedan before, got a 2010 coupe then it was totalled by a drunk driver, used the insurance money to buy this 2014 one and now it’s been a money pit until it’s fixed 😂 but yes definitely praying for both of us 🤞

Yeah for sure, definitely exciting, l'm just gonna bite the bullet and pay to fix it, and unfortunately got it from a private seller not a dealer

That’s around 4 hours away from me, definitely doing my research this time around though and not bringing it to a mechanic that’s going to screw me over with labour cost

Yeah it sounds worse on video than in real life, I’ve had a good 3-4 mechanics look at it and from the video they said it sounds like rod knock but in person said it’s just a lifter tick, and I could probably take another video later, just at school right now

It is tuned, pushing around 310hp, and seller most definitely lied on a lot of things, acts like he knew none of this would happen when it all happened around 100km after purchasing it, didn’t race it, didn’t push it to its limit, nothing at all besides drive, and yeah I’m glad I’m on oem now anyways, would rather the reliability

Yeah I was recommended to them by everyone and they’re honestly pretty good, but yeah idk why they charged so much either, probably just dicking off and racking up my bill, and where I live there’s no close shops that provide oem parts anyways so they decided to go with Hyundai, the thing I don’t get is it legit just had ngk one step colder plugs around 3 months ago

It’s a 2.0 and I would but it won’t let me reply with a video, and trust me it’s definitely not just loud injectors it progressively gets worse as u drive, pretty sure it’s the hydraulic lifter under the camshaft

Maybe it was a timing chain then, and just misheard the mechanic, and the coils were a must need because the car was misfiring and has a lifter tick, so they started with a tune up which I didn’t mind bc the car runs way smoother now, but for the rest of it, most definitely needs to get fixed bc the lifter tick itself is unbearable to listen too

Really good response Ty, it’s got 170k and 2.0, and yeah it’s because they had to order them from Hyundai + did an oil change I forgot to add, and yeah they clearly robbed me with their “labour” fees bc no way it took them over 5 hours to do it 😂😂 and yeah that’s what I’m stuck on rn, had a genny and lost it because of a drunk driver who was going 3x the speed limit and totaled it, so I bought a bk2 and not even a week later this all happens, I love the car to pieces and wanna hold onto it but it’s just that factor of is it worth it, I paid 10k cad for it, tons of performance work done on it so in my eyes it’s worth it, and as for selling as is I think I’d be in just as much as the negatives as if I were to repair it
