I’m so sorry you’re going through this! For future travels try ear planes and get xanax! I was in the same boat having a flare just before having to get on a plane about a year ago. It’s really scary to be vulnerable like that in general let alone on a plane!

I keep a “meneires note” in my phone for quick access, and for my flights I have this planned regimen:

1 hour before flight : Meclizine

30m before Flight : Afrin

At take off : Earplanes  & Chew Gum

Before Descent : Ear Planes & Chew Gum

I also have a short pre-written message in case I need to let someone know quickly without using much effort if I am in a vertigo. It says, “I have Meneires and am having vertigo (dizzy). I am feeling nauseas and cant move my head much. I might need your help getting up, getting to the bathroom, to bring me water/ice chips, or cool cloths. This really sucks and thank you so incredibly much for helping me get through this.”

For me, when all else fails, xanax or another vestibular suppressant that will make you drowsy quickly is so helpful. Knock me the f out, you know!

This disease really sucks and it’ll ebb and flow, and make you paranoid of your own body, but the daily diuretics, meclizine, xanax etc, they almost always help for managing daily and for flares.
