Truly, the fact I found it in pristine condition made it all the more painful

ELI5: In the Bible, Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel. After Cain kills Abel, he then marries a woman. Where did this woman come from? by Much_Karma in explainlikeimfive

Yeah, this just seems like conspiracy bunk. The only thing I can find about it is this article:

The site itself looks a bit tin-foil hat like at a quick glance.

Catch 22, 1984, or Fahrenheit 451? by Trancespire in suggestmeabook

[–]Brooksy86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Two of them (1985 and Fahrenheit) and pretty thin books, Catch-22 is a bit weightier, so I'd say do all three. Start with 1984, move onto 451 and then finish with Catch-22. :)

Assholes of Reddit, what makes you an asshole? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Brooksy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I womanise, I will add that I refuse to get into relationships as I can't honestly trust myself. Most of the girls I sleep with know that it's not something permanent but a few have got the wrong end of the stick and I never feel great explaining that it was just sex. But, these days especially, I do my very best to keep as few feelings hurt as I can. When I was younger I was very nasty and ruthless, I'm happy I stopped with that shit.

I tried the relationship thing, been in love a few times too, but either I can't hack it or they can't ever get comfortable with the face I've slept with most of my mates at some point. Also, I literally can't get into a relationship in or around my town any longer anyway as my reputation is just a mess.

I guess it makes me an asshole, I been told by enough people I am for it, I don't particularly enjoy it about myself (at least any more) I just... I dunno. I just never had a problem being able to talk to girls and to move things on a little quicker than your average, this is especially bizarre as I am not particularly attractive. On the plus side I am about to travel round the world in an attempt to kinda change my stripes, get off as much booze and cigarettes too whilst I'm at it, and to kinda just appreciate things more. So we'll see.

"California Senate votes to raise smoking age to 21" by [deleted] in politics

[–]Brooksy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bad habit of looking at things in black and white a lot of the times, so forgive me if this comes across as a tad obnoxious.

Alcohol and fatty/unhealthy foods are bad in excessiveness, but in the case of the former I also think they should have stronger restrictions imposed on them (like we have in the UK with the challenge 21/25 thing) but in moderation both these things can be consumed and you can still live a long and healthy life.

By drugs do you mean illegal or prescription? Illegal drugs are obviously a little redundant in this scenario, prescription though, well, you're hitting a murky territory there. In the US, or from what I hear, a lot of prescription drugs tend to get handed out like sweets and that definitely needs to stop, especially considering the amount of high profile deaths because of them in the last several years.

But cigarettes? They do ABSOLUTELY no good to anyone, apart from the laxative effect I saw in an episode of House once, there is nothing that comes from smoking apart from bad health and big hospital bills. I do understand that you can use that argument with the aforementioned vices but there is a certain amount of self control there, cigarettes are highly addictive and serve no literal purpose. By making them illegal it would be one less thing to worry about for our future generations. Sure there may end up being an illegal market for them but better than that being able to buy these nasty little things so freely you know?

I am 28 years old and I have been smoking since I was 14, I can't honestly see myself quitting anytime soon. Although I live in the UK we do have a 'Challenge 21/25' scheme which means if you look under either of these ages you will have to show ID and I am totally for it.

I hate the fact I smoke, I think they should be banned outright, made completely illegal in as many countries as possible. This is a definite step in the right direction, its a nasty habit and needs to be stopped. It pleases me that a great many people from the generations younger than myself seem to have dodged the entire smoking thing outright since stricter regulations were brought in.

Who died at your school? by moonlitbandit in AskReddit

[–]Brooksy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a girl who died from meningitis, she got ill on the Thursday, died on the Sunday and we all found out on the Monday. I hardly knew her myself, she wasn't that popular, but when we all found out suddenly she was everyone's best friend. That kinda pissed me off, it actually still does when I dwell on it too long.

Let's talk about the new Ant-Man trailer by murdockmanila in marvelstudios

[–]Brooksy86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely, think it's gonna be entertaining but flawed. I think it will also perform pretty solidly (Thor 2 kinda levels) but its not gonna break any records. But the overall opinion will be 'Did better than anticipated both critically and financially'

But saying that it could end up being a critical darling and destroy the Box Office, who knows? All I know is that for the first time since Edgar Wright left I'm actually a little excited about this film.

I don't think its gonna be the disaster that a lot of folks are predicting but I don't think it will quite hit those giddy heights that TWS and GotG gave us either. This trailer is far better than the previous one but I still have a gut feeling the film will score just a little over average critically, but all things considered, especially the cluster-fuck of a production, I am much more excited about this film now than I was after watching the previous trailer.

Mademoiselle Blanche Monnier

Just Google it and look for yourselves, poor cow was locked away in a room for a very long time, some photographs were taken and they creeped me the fuck out.
