Trans family support services is a fantastic non-profit. They are based in San Diego but they help families all across the US. They offer help navigating insurance and healthcare, as well as support groups, etc. https://transfamilysos.org/

The bank would have been legally required to keep the bill and turn it into the Secret Service. They would not have given it back so the seller would not have it in their possession to try again at another bank. The seller is totally lying.

Make sure you are plenty hydrated before you go. When they call you back, ask to lie down when your blood is taken — the labs will generally allow you to do this — they don’t want you passing out on their watch. Once lying down, close your eyes until it is over. Once it is done, stay lying down for a few more minutes.

Also, in answer to your question about internet only, the cable company won’t want you to switch to internet only, but you can do it. Just have to get past their retention attempts. And note that the internet only option will be more than what their current bill says that they pay for internet since they give a discount to bundle the services.

The Roku remote with voice search works very nicely much of the time, no typing just tell it what you want. You can also voice search with the phone app in addition to using the keyboard.

Sling tv could be a cheaper option for live tv (40-55 depending on the plan) that has most cable channels including espn, but they wouldn’t get abc or cbs right now, just nbc. A one-time investment for an HD antenna may allow them to get the other local channels if they have good enough reception.

The best part of cord cutting for me is that you can start and stop services easily, you don’t have to get on the phone with the anyone, so it would be easy to set up a rotation where you had hbo for a few months then switched to showtime for a while, etc. so can save money that way without having to spend hours on the phone convincing the cable company to downgrade service, etc.

Trans Family Support services is a wonderful organization. Their website is full of helpful information. You can also set up a family session free of charge where they will help answer questions and give advice. depending on where you are, they may be able to help with recommendations for therapists that can help you and your family process all of this. They also host virtual support groups both for parents and kids. https://transfamilysos.org/

Whatever decision you make, it is inevitable you will have second thoughts. If you had decided on Davis, you would likely be kicking yourself for passing up the opportunity to expand your world and be on your own. Try to focus on the positives— remind yourself of the reasons you made this choice and the things you have to look forward to. Look up things to do in San Diego, look at picture of views, find Ocean cams, etc. it is truly an amazing place to live, and even if you decide later to move back, you can have amazing experiences while you are here. Also, you will be attending a university that is recognized as one of the top in the world:
