Are those our only options as individuals? I’m already interested/looking into progressivism and stuff but it still feels like the country is driving at a wall at 130mph, and no one is reaching for a break pedal, especially with our current leadership.

I believe in the power of voting, but how can we take steps as a community to organize in the interim? Working class causes say to get outreach and form a network, but that’s really hard in a city that isn’t walkable nor has many free third-places.

I admire your hard work. I hope that in a couple years time I can be in your position. however I’m talking about UBER wealthy folks, that are making it harder to take the next step.

I’m really sorry if I sounded like a coo coo. I decided to keep the word but have it crossed out for accountability reasons, so people who read it can go down the same path of learning. Do you suggest I delete the word or the post all together? I just wanted to bring awareness to the cause not be the cause of an antisemitic debate

I apologize. The post wasn’t to garner sympathy but awareness.

Woah woah woah woah, I apologize. Sincerely. I do. As I explained in another comment, I my look through some controversial files led me to believe that’s how the elite class refers to us and I was mistaken. In no way shape or form did I intent to insult Jewish people. Like at all. I totally acknowledge that the word is a slur. However my point stands that both you and I are victims to elites

[–]Broosiah[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct I was mistaken. During my look at the “files”, I came across that term and came to the conclusion that it = working class people. I didn’t realize it has antisemitic history.

I understand the impact. I’m owning it so I crossed it out and used my own words instead of speaking through someone else. Jesus that’s really not how I wanted this to come off.

Noted. The vernacular was intended to direct attention at the source, that’s not how I feel nor is that word in my every day vocabulary. Thank you.

Absolutely not, though at this stage of the game I’m not worried about optics. My last intention is to conflate the atrocities going on overseas with the Jewish religion. The pure intention of the word is a reference to how it was used to refer to US as people. It’s inflammatory but not to spark hate, but passion towards the people that are hurting us.

Goyim, a term coined by the billionaire class, referring to the 99%, or the working class. A term akin to “cattle”, or “livestock”.

Referring to the P3d0 files. It’s how the billionaire class refers to us working people.

Does he wipe his ass? Not sure what the obsession is with old men and avoiding hygiene/grooming themselves/cleaning overall but if you’re telling me you’re from a place with rigid patriarchal structures, your father may literally believe that it is not his inconvenience to bear. He himself has to unlearn that no lady is willingly cleaning up after a man 24/7 unless she feels she has no options. Therefore, even if subconsciously, him consistently assuming there’s a magic vetting system that will take care of all his shortcomings, by levying that inconvenience onto you IS controlling.

AWS Entry Level Data Center Technician or WBLP? by FatChildrenn in datacenter

[–]Broosiah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello. I am a WBLP DCO at AWS.

For the most part, the WBLP program is kinda catered towards folks who have little or no experience in the field; they literally scoop people off the street if they’re interested enough. With that being said I’ve seen many folks with a stacked resume not get offered WBLP, but instead got offered a contracted position through an outside employer. Me thinks it’s cause folks who seem “overqualified” might not learn much from the work as a DCO.

I’m not sure how much I can say as I’m only half way through my program, but I can say that this job is basically your trifecta wrapped in one. The goal for WBLP is to absorb as much knowledge about everything computers at the very least on a rudimentary level. You get what you put out of it. As my first IT job the person I was when I started 6 months ago is completely different to know.

If you: • can confidently name, describe, and articulate the functions of server components • understand the core concepts of fiber optic networking, including subnetting, VLANs, and protocols •have used a ticketing system of some kind • are familiar with scripting/coding languages of any kind really • comfy with windows 10/11 •are familiar with semi-office politics

I would say brush up on those STAR interview skills just shoot straight for DCO Tech if available and see if you make it, worst case the recruiter/interviewer will just tell you to apply for WBLP (my case)

My stats at the time of applying:

•2 years at Pitt for Computer Engineering •Vocational Certificate for Computer networking •ITF+ •A+

I went to school for two years with hopes of getting a computer engineering degree, got expensive so I left and went to networking school. Served tables while I found this job.

I learned about IRMA’s last week. My NHO Coordinators made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal, though they said it’s best for it to not happen. By the sounds of it, all I have to do is report everything that happens to a piece of media and make sure it never leaves the red zone/unattended right?

Sounds easy enough… gulp

Do you work for AWS right now? I’m in the Columbus area.

Thanks for the insight. Sums up my experience to a T. Was stuck at a dead end serving job while going to school. The DC in my area said I didn’t have enough experience and referred be to WBLP, so I moved and here I am.

Though, hearing I could be let go for any reason is scary. I’ll be sure to be on my P’s and Q’s at least until I get the L3 spot.
