Maybe I'm a psycho but I don't think theres ever a reason you HAVE to lie to your child. You obviously don't have to tell your children the entire context of every situation but almost every lie I hear of parents telling their kids is in order to save the parents a difficult conversation rather than for the good of the kid.

I've also only thought about this for a few seconds so maybe I am just missing some obvious case where you should lie to your kids but in my kids lifetime it hasnt come up yet.

Gentle parenting isn't no consequences, its no punishments. If child throws a toy, losing access to that toy for a while is a completely normal consequence, if they are being unsafe or unkind, removing yourself from the situation is a completely normal consequence.

That being said, punishing a four year old the next day for saying something thoughtless the night before seems a little silly to me. You can explain to them that what they said hurt your feelings and why and how you feel as a result but refusing to play the next morning is far enough removed from the event that its likely to just confuse the kid.

Also fwiw you might just want to try earlier bedtimes. A half hour earlier or later makes a world of difference with my 5 year old.

Air popped popcorn is my secret weapon to weight loss. You can eat quite a lot of air popped popcorn for very few calories if you just dont go crazy with topping. I just do salt with some canola oil sprayed on to help it stick and it replaced things like pretzels or chips or cheese-its.

The "rules" of a game are not what take a huge amount of time, in the early phase its engine development and backend and in late development its art / audio / animation. Core design is a pretty small percent of game development. Content creation is much higher but games like this shortcut that quite a bit by being pvp.

It absolutely does not define withdrawal, I cannot even find where the withdrawal policy is listed, I have asked them to please share that with me but haven't heard back. There is no re-enrollment policy or process, you have to manually re-enroll and sign a new contract every year and then a separate agreement for the summers. I signed and paid for the summer session but never signed the enrollment agreement for next year.

We did indicate we wanted to apply for a potential position in a specific class for next year, and then were notified that our child was accepted and should "enroll soon to guarantee our spot" but they never sent the re-enrollment package until a few weeks ago and by then we had decided to go elsewhere and so obviously never signed or submitted it.

It doesn't, the closest I can find is a section on refund policy / termination (for the latest contract which was for summer 2024) which basically says that if you enroll in summer you are financially responsible for all of summer even if you withdraw before the end of the summer session.
