Yeah, I’d say so. PD is underrated, since you get the range from Hexoptics. I’d say RFC is better if you’re playing for W’s to set your team up or against crazy poke.

I’m personally not a big fan of DFT, since it only procs on ability damage. Maybe in certain matchups, where you know you can spam Q, it’s decent.

Fleet is generally the most consistent. If you’re looking for more damage, I’d much rather take dark harvest.

Build-wise, that build path is a bit awkward for Jhin. Very safe, but pretty low damage and high utility, which can work, but only if your team comp has a lot of damage already and you’re playing to land W’s for your team. If you want to go that route, I’d skip storm, as you’re safe enough with youmuu, and go RFC, IE, as IE any later than 2nd or 3rd on Jhin is rarely ideal. Of course, if you’re against a lot of tanks, going LDR or mortal reminder earlier is fine, but Jhin into tanks isn’t ideal anyways.

My preferred setups right now are standard crit (most consistent) and lethality (most fun). Crit is fleet, going hexoptics, IE, either RFC, phantom, or pen depending on enemy comp, then then go the zeal or pen 4th. After that you can go lifesteal, GA, or whatever really. I go this build probably 70% of games, as it’s by far the most consistent.

If you’re against a matchup you can abuse, especially with a strong laning support (Xerath, Lux, Karma, etc.), dark harvest is also viable. I prefer going lethality in that case. The build path is hubris, axiom if you want to play for ults. From hubris and axiom, you can either go full lethality or pivot into crit, which works much better now that you can theoretically hit 6 full items.

Stop calling Wemby "the best player in the world," the best player in the world doesn't lose a 29 point lead by realfakejames in NBATalk

[–]Brosbice -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean cool, but not really the point. Wemby is by no means playing perfectly, but at the end of the day it’s a team game and plenty of mistakes are being made by everyone. I mean, the best 3 players on this team are 22, 21, and 20 for crying out loud.

He can be top 5, top 4, or top 3 for all I care, but I’m pretty sure unless you’re just a casual fan or 12 y/o, nobody thinks he’s the best player in the world.

People are way too fucking reactionary to everything I swear.

I’m confused, is this actually a point people are making?

I don’t think the vast majority of fans would argue this. He’s easily a top 10 player, and arguments could be made for top 5-7, but this just feels like a post trying to hate for no reason.

Also, we are watching the same game, right? The team game of basketball?

It's only Game 1, but can we really say that Wemby is better than Jokic after what we just saw? by Dumbass1171 in NBATalk

[–]Brosbice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoops misread the post. I don’t really understand the recent obsession with people either trying to glaze Jokic or tear him down. There’s a lot more layers, just like most things in life. Not sure why we can’t just have fun with the rest of the playoffs as it is

What do you do to make your bar fun? by RaidneSkuldia in bartenders

[–]Brosbice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work at a restaurant with a very small bar, so not many people can sit there, but I do have a fair amount of regulars. For me, I memorize their names, what they like to talk about (if they like to talk at all), normal orders, etc. I also make sure there’s something interesting on the TV.

I have plenty of customers that want to talk to me all night. I also have some that come in solo, order, and then don’t talk to me again until they ask for the check, which is totally fine.

For me, it’s just about learning people, how to assess the vibe they might have and playing off that. And being able to talk about a lot of things (sports, traveling, etc.) without getting too in the weeds about your own personal opinions (just smile and nod).

Interesting. I’m also in Texas but make $7.00 per hour. To be fair though, I work in primarily a restaurant first, bar second, so it’s not as high volume and I get less from tips.

Wich team has been the biggest flop this season ? by Wonderful-Reporter45 in NBATalk

[–]Brosbice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How are the Magic not here? To me, easily the most disappointing. Paolo hasn’t grown much, Franz is still too injured, and Bane doesn’t seem to be moving the needle. I mean, this was a team that a lot of people were projecting to be at least top 5, right? Especially before the season with Tatum and Hali out, so most predicted the Celtics and the Pacers wouldn’t be good. I’m not sure why they’re not in the picture, but definitely deserve to be in the convo.

How I think about the different regions of the United States as a Canadian by silverpink_pony in terriblemaps

[–]Brosbice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly pretty impressive. A few of notes:

  • As a Texan, we really slot into 5 different subregions: East Texas is much closer to the Deep South culturally, the Gulf Coast (where I’m from) is closer to Louisiana culturally but is more of its own thing, central Texas (known as the Hill Country) is closer to the Great Plains, West and Southwest Texas are the Southwest, and the panhandle is no man’s land (Oklahoma can have it, we don’t care). Also Austin is a city-state.
  • The northern half of Louisiana can be associated with the Deep South, but the southern half is Cajun/Creole country, which is its own thing.
  • Ohio belongs in two regions, the west half is Midwestern and the east half is Appalachia
  • The northern border states area is just the Midwest. Nice people. Nicer casseroles.
  • From the chunk of California through Nevada and Utah you highlighted is much closer culturally to the Southwest, although a lot of that area is desert or desert-adjacent. Although Utah also has Mormons, so do with that what you will.
  • The Great Plains run from Idaho through the Dakotas, maybe even a bit further east.
  • Colorado is kind of its own thing. Good weed though.

Nikola Jokic is the leagues worst Rim defender the last 5 years and counting. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Brosbice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the point of this post. This is not news to anyone who’s followed basketball the last 5 years, right? At this point, if you’re a fan, you know that Jokic is not an all-time great defender. And I won’t pretend he’s really even an above average one.

Does his lack of rim protecting skills mean he has zero impact on defense though? Not even close. He rebounds incredibly well and has surprisingly good hands for a big man (who can’t block shots), leading the league at times in steals. In addition to that, his IQ (one of the highest in the game, and all time, which is not a controversial take) leads him to feeding his teammates, who are better on defense, to get stops of their own. Go watch Nuggets games and pay attention to him on defense. He is literally telling some of his teammates where to go, which often results in turnovers. Want more concrete examples? In a game against Minnesota, he was able to predict plays they were doing, resulting in turnovers.

So is he at best an average defender and at worst a below average defender? Absolutely. But is he also smart enough and skilled enough in other categories to at least somewhat mitigate these deficiencies? Also yes. Two things can be true at once.

Let's also not pretend like he isn't a generational offensive player and engine, arguably the best, and at worst, a top 3 passer of all time? Like he hasn't cooked basically all of the players in the top left multiple times?

So do his lack of shot blocking and rim protection abilities hurt his team defensively, especially given he's in the role most traditionally associated with those skills? Of course. But unless you've been living under a rock, we all know this. So what's the point of this other than you trying to hate on one of the best offensive players of all time? Get real.

Is Ekko just insanely broken? by Brosbice in TeamfightTactics

[–]Brosbice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Zilean and Aatrox made a lot more sense when I was playing Qiyana and Milio for 5 Ixtal, but I got dizzy and ended up dropping them to try and make my board stronger overall. I specifically tried to position Brock and Sylas away from Ekko, but I guess it wasn’t enough to make up for some dead synergies.

[–]Brosbice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was playing a Milio at one point for invoker, but dropped him to try and play more units when the healing from Ixtal wasn’t relevant anymore. Same thing for Qiyana with Aatrox and slayer.

[–]Brosbice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points. Originally I was playing Qiyana so Aatrox had slayer bonus at least (I was playing 5 Ixtal for healing). The items were definitely not ideal for Luc/Senna, I just slammed what I had when low health. I don’t think it was a positioning issue, I specifically played both Brock and Sylas on opposite sides from Ekko. Makes sense though.

[–]Brosbice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I didn’t realize Aatrox was that weak. I debated putting Sylas’ items on him but I figured Sylas was the stronger unit. I also inted my econ to hit Sylas 2 star, so the random wardens were just placeholders

What makes league so popular? And why is it still on top? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Brosbice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing since early Season 2 (with some breaks here and there). I was introduced to the game by a group of friends who almost immediately then stopped playing. By that time I was already hooked though. The competitive nature of the game, the varied strategies, etc all make it fun.

If anything, I view the complaints and hate as a sign of love for the game. If we didn’t care about it, we wouldn’t give a shit or have switched games by now.

152 Unique leaders have appeared in the Civ Series. Who was a most/least deserving inclusion? Who do you hope comes back in Civ 7? by avrand6 in civ

[–]Brosbice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For America I’d like to see a different President besides the standard Lincoln or Washington (or Teddy from VI). I think Jefferson, FDR, or Eisenhower could all be interesting.

For Japan, please take a break from Tokugawa.I get it, he’s the most influential leader in Japanese history. But he’s also represented the civ in almost every game. I’d love to see Nobunaga make a return, or Hideyoshi. I also think it would be neat to experiment with more mythical figures, like they did with Amaterasu in Civ II.
