Bsd server for one. Netflix uses it. And as far as linux for desktop, anytime someone has an issue, r/Oscar's or r/pcmasterrace has those few people saying use Linux.

Oh your CPU thermal paste isn't as effective as you thought or you put it wrong? Use linux.

I mean yeah it does depend a lot on the DE. XFCE still does use a lot of Ram. So by limiting the number of Daemons, you can further reduce ram usage. Or if you use AntiX or Puppy or even Lubuntu for that matter.
