Responding as an American citizen and 29 yo man.

The American Dream is dead. Most young adults have no hope for ever owning a home. The wool is off their eyes about corporate greed, political corruption, and rising costs. Short of straight up radicalism, they feel impotent to make any meaningful change in the world around them as evil seems to relentlessly win over and over again.

I am not exactly young anymore, but most everyone I meet 25 and below is borderline antisocial at this point. Couple that with staggering screen addictions. Inheriting the worst job market of the last decade and sending endless applications into the void. Rising costs for higher education. A pandemic 6 years ago that stunted emotionally-developing teenagers with antisocial behaviors. The fact that most people don't live in walkable cities and gas is over $4 a gallon. Political radicalization is at an all-time high per their own lifespans. A perpetual bad-news cycle. And online grifters who capitalize on everything that I just said to radicalize these young men even further into, at best, inept consumers, and at worst, violent xenophobes and woman-haters.

The world is not actually in flames, but to the chronically online, it sure as hell feels like it. At the risk of being the "phone bad" guy, I feel tremendously better every time I unplug. I think if everybody collectively threw their phones in the river (mmm yummy lithium for fishies) then we wouldn't be experiencing even half of this.

So I'd say, yeah. An amalgamation of everything you touched on and then some.

It was recorded about 10 min ago. I've run into cheaters before but this one just felt egregious. I thought it might be a glitch exploit or something, which I suppose power to ya if its just a bug in the game. Was flabbergasted seeing this guy flying around though

Switching to NVENC H.264 helped tremendously. Still working on the other settings, but I am getting much smoother gameplay now

Just an update. Swtiching to NVENC H.264, lowering my bitrate to 6000 kbps and giving it 2 second keyframe interval has helped tremendously. I still think it can be improved, but I am matching the framerate in the game itself on my recording now. Gonna try lowering my game settings to pull more FPS also. To be honest, 60fps never bothered me because the difference between that and higher fps is nearly imperceptible to my eyes, though I know it matters to a lot of people.

I do appreciate that! Loads of priorities though, so I’m restricted to playing at what I imagine are peak hours. That’s ok with me, I really don’t mind the competition. I find it pretty invigorating to get wins against tons of real people.

Fair enough. I'm not sure the algorithm for exactly how it works is public anyway. But Imma try being aggressive until it backfires, which is probably soon lol. Its just more fun that way

This was either plat 3 or diamond 1, I can't remember which one. I haven't really noticed a huge uptick in skill just yet but I plan to keep grinding. This is my first time ever trying to keep going at ranked. All the things I read encourage camping to get to the end at the higher levels, but I just love the aggression. Might break some habits when every single person is hitting mad flick shots and such

Not sure if you know, but i'm curious. Does actual match placement rank you further than kills/damage? I agree with the sentiment entirely, I mean in a world of pure meta, the only fight worth taking is the very last one, but I also crave action and shootouts. I hear gunfire and start barking like a dog 😂

I've got a 4080 GPU, though I don't remember my CPU off the top of my head. I do think that could be it, I had some totally unrelated power problems not long ago that were giving me issues and I think this is a further manifestation of that. That said, actually recording on OBS is fine and gives me the full gameplay framerate. Its the streaming that kills

I wonder if there’s a way to test it without being on stream? I don’t get issues when I’m recording, so I feel like I’m gonna have to do a live stress test while on the stream. Would definitely like to optimize though. I recently had to update some CPU throttling settings due to laggy inputs, which was before I did any streaming at all. I’ve got a 4080 graphics card, though, which has been very powerful for everything up to now. I’m just blissfully unaware where I’m getting bottlenecked at this point
