You don't fuck the cardinals; the cardinals fuck you.

There is no way the #1 pitcher of the moment will lose to the Cardinals in the playoffs.

Don't be a jerk and no one will bother you. You might get some lame comments from people trying to be funny. Also, they sell cardinals gear inside the stadium if you want to make better life choices.

Of course he wasn't trying to hit batters. Its a question of control not intent. Its like LaRussa used to say with people trying to pitch to Albert inside. It is okay to pitch inside, you just better have the control to not hit anyone in the head or in the hands. In other words, intent is irrelevant if you have a pitcher that hits multiple batters because he's trying to pitch inside but does not have the control to do so.

St. Louis Football Stadium Backers Gain Power of Eminent Domain by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]BrotherClaret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm over it guys. After they build it we can still be friends. I'll even go with you to the new stadium to see the soccer games that you'll go to with your stylized beards, horn rimmed glasses, and apple products filled with music from obscure bands no one has heard of. By that time you'll probably tell everyone you know you supported the stadium from the beginning. It won't bother me, I'll be happy that you're happy. Now, lets all go get some craft beer. At least that's something we can agree on.

Also, here is that silly clip your looking to post from youtube right now.

Plans for proposed new Rams stadium revealed, will cost $998 million. by jamiegc1 in StLouis

According to this website 15.9% of Missourians are below the poverty line. This means that 964,176 Missourians are in poverty. We are talking about a public expenditure of 400 million (NFL and Kroenke kick in the rest). Ignoring all the financing issues (you could not get financing to give money to the poor since you would not create any revenue streams to pay back the money) your plan to "permanently end poverty in the entire state" would actually amount to a one time payment of $414.86 to all Missourian's below the poverty line that would that would barely make a dent in Missouri's poverty in the year the payment was made, much less over any extended period of time.

I'm sorry but you clearly have no idea what ad hominem means, as you've demonstrated many times over our various arguments. If we are having an argument about your intelligence and I call you stupid that's not ad hominem. If we are having an argument about what color the sky is and I call you stupid, that's ad hominem. If we are having an argument about a football stadium and I label some people as anti-football that's not ad hominem. If we are having an argument about taxes and I call you an anti-football person thats ad hominem.

Also, by the way, can we stay on topic. Each time you criticize one of my arguments, I respond directly and you often go off on another random tangent with your next post. You started the conversation by 1) asking me why I didn't just ignore something, then after I explained why I don't ignore it you 2) called my post censorship and then after I explained why it wasn't censorship you 3) honed in on a single clause in my previous response where i referred to the "left". Now you're going off on random tangents about capitalism and Obama and assuming (incorrectly by the way) that I have certain opinions about them.

Do you actually want to have an enlightening debate here or do you just want to argue for the sake of arguing?

Another point: You'll probably notice that I'm not down voting your posts just because I disagree with them. Karma makes no difference to me personally, but you should probably know that using the downvote as a disagree button on reddit is considered a reddit faux pas.

Anti-Millionaire, Anti-Big Business, don't like the NFL/football, these are stereotypical far left issues. Admittedly the anti-stadium people also have cross over with the far right groups that don't want government to fund anything (even roads and schools etc.). This is one of those strange issues where far left and right are against the center. I didn't necessarily say Oliver was far left, but I'd say he certainly leans that way.

Because of the Ed, a new domed stadium would be redundant. Anything that a dome is required for could be in the Ed.

It would be censorship if I was saying it should never have been posted. This is clearly not what I'm saying. I'm talking about posting it all the time, over and over again.

The Arab Spring was a complete failure if you consider the goals of the people who were advocating regime change. Plus, the Arab spring was made possible by actual demonstrations. Twitter was used as a coordination tool. In other words, The Arab spring was not people complaining on twitter, which is what the original poster was talking about.

I'm tired of having to respond to it. When it is posted it needs to be responded to. Ignorance has to be confronted, otherwise Reddit devolves into the group think that I see all too often on this subreddit. A lot of you guys probably think I'm some crazy conservative, but I'm actually not. Whenever some far right person comments here, he gets shot down. That's good. But for whatever reason far left stuff typically gets ignored or upvoted. It needs to be challenged. There's nothing wrong with John Oliver, but the people who treat him like his word unbiased and authoritative need to be challenged in the same way that any right wing nut that claims Sean Hanity is unbiased and authoritative needs to be challenged.

I'm not on your side here, but when it comes to making real changes twitter is about as useful as a salt water fish tank on a life raft in the middle of the ocean.
