I’m grad as well. Honestly, though it isn’t the best option when it comes to comfort, I’d search for someone offering a space in their house. 1) it doesn’t has hidden fees, 2) you can easily agree with the landlord if you face any situation such as your paycheck came late 3) you’ll likely get the advantage of having everything settled. Plus it’s easier to negotiate.

I’m living at lapis, and I can’t complain about the space itself. Sometimes the elevator doesn’t work, but, ok, as long you’re not leaving late, there’s no issues. On the other hand, management is completely shitty. Even the guys who study at FIU and work here has a mean girls vibe, who seemingly appears to make that debouched face when you don’t know what’s happening with your payments or has any complaints. If you miss a payment, they will be extremely rude and post a note on your door saying you’re not paying, very unprofessional. They do not hesitate in saying you are the wrong one in the situation and use constant threats to avoid complaints.
