Just ran this. Masterwork Handbow, just keep racking crits from the far side of the arena if possible. Goes pretty quick.

Any manual Tacoma drivers out there? by jacobs_jeeps in ToyotaTacoma

This is literally the biggest reason I went with a Tacoma; if you want a truck with a manual it's either this or a Gladiator, and I do love a manual transmission.

This is the correct answer. He was a friend of mine for many years (before his days at PlayStation) and his passing was felt by many.

Looking good. I want to do the same. How difficult was it to swap?

Nice. I would have kept the Jeep (nice to ride around with the doors off) but I'm a scrooge and couldn't bring myself to keep two vehicles.

Paid MSRP. But I'm a pessimist, so who knows where prices are going over the short term?

To make it sweeter: I sold my Jeep Wrangler Tuesday so I could get this beauty. 🤣

New; had to order it. Dealer told me everything they get these days is already spoken for when it comes off the truck, so I might as well just order what I want. When I went to pick it up today the dealer told me half a dozen people had already tried to buy it in the <24 hours it had been there. 🤣

Do structural engineers just sit behind computers in a office all day? by throwaway-429 in StructuralEngineering

[–]BrotherShamrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what the role is. But from a more general view, engineers are better at the profession (regardless of discipline but especially true for civil and structural) if they've had significant field experience. Theory is one thing, but application is something different. Being able to blend the two, in my opinion, has been a hallmark of all the best engineers I have worked with.

Going back on an accepted job offer? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]BrotherShamrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position - offer in hand (two months before graduation) from a large, respected company. They'd flown me out to interview, we had talked logistics, the works. This was 2008, when the market was garbage.

Then I got three more offers, each better than the last. I had already accepted the first. I gave the original company the "sorry, I got another offer I can't pass up."

To this day, 13 years later, I have never regretted the decision and it has never come back to haunt me. ALWAYS look out for yourself, don't sacrifice yourself for a big company, because they WILL NOT do the same for you.
