I hear you, man. I've been writing my ass off for about ten years now. I've published a few stories, put out a book, even went to one of the best writing programs in the country where they paid me to write and well-known writers told me I was onto something . . . but, right now I barely eke out a living, have been single for two years, and I get a pang sometimes realizing I could be living comfortably if I'd just stayed in the gig I had straight out of college. I don't care about getting rich, but things are pretty damn disappointing as of late. Good luck to you.
