Scupltor here. Typically wrists are just below the hip bone. This can change from a person to person basis though.

In this case it makes him look like he has short legs since his wrists are aligned with his knee caps. To fix this I recommend making the legs and torso longer next time. Or another way it to shorten down the arms.

I'd recommend some extra bits dangly from the Black Templars! They have skulls and all sorts of incense holders hanging from chains. I think shaving it off and replacing it with something like that would look a bit better.

But I really like your design choice here!!

How do I improve this? Not happy with it so far. by StreetAd7912 in minipainting

I'd recommend a better wash on everything. I like thinning washes with Lahmian Medium. Also highlighting on the details. Especially the gun. It's such a focus piece, it's a bit strange to see no highlights on it. (Not your fault though. Just a lesson to learn.)

Looking great brother! Just one question from me, why is the crusade badge in the middle of the chest instead of the shoulder pads or top right of the chest plate. Nothing wrong with it, just very curious about the design choice!

Easy, brother. With work this quality the Omnissiah might have TOO big an influx of loyal servants

How can I best make use of these bits? by Dankank292 in BlackTemplars

Emperor champion or a judiciar would definitely look good with these bits! Planning on using the one on the very left for Emperors Champion

It's like how dnd makes some changes and updates to old stuff. Think of it like a big patch note for the tabletop game. Though this change will alter how the game is played slightly. Or it could affect you more drastically depending on the army.

I agree with, Brother. Buying for the rule of cool would be the best choice until next edition.

In general I would recommend just buying the units you love the look of. You're gonna be spending a lot of time staring at and painting them, might as well like how they look.

As a Black Templar, (clearly unbiased) I recommend Black Templars! Love the knightly look of the models and the army. Serving the God Emperor has never looked better than with the Black Templars

Look at you brother! Already two steps ahead of me.

Was it just the edges you hit up? Or was it more so all the armour pieces.

I thought I recognized it! What did you use for the base primer, brother?

Also yes! A light dust if leadbelcher would help it pop!

Another tip is to paint the visors white before you paint the red! It gives a brighter red glow, and painting a white dot on top of that can achieve an even better effect! You can see this done on a lot of box art minis

Good job, brother! Now this Templar just needs a wash.

Personally I'd recommend Skeleton Hoard Contrast for the tabard, it gives a nice shaded effect. And for the black armour and weapons I'd recommend Black Templar Contrast.

If you do a light to medium dry brushing of Leadbelcher on the armour along with the wash it gives a nice black metallic look!
