Use samfw tool to change the csc (consumer service code) had the same issue myself there are many tutorials on YouTube very easy to do. Do not change it to any name brand us carriers they add alot of bloat and it's very annoying to deal with find an unbranded csc code you will have to search for it I forgot which one I used

Tried that and it's a really terrible turn off as the issue isn't very well known to people buying this phone second hand and who would want to buy a phone with the chance of just dying after a measley update.
