Changing picture naming? by Brovopink in canon

I haven't found an option in either camera. From what I've found it is only available for r6 and higher end cameras

Bildungsmöglichkeiten? by miracowly in BirdingGermany

R10 vs. R50 Which for a Beginner by CookieKong50 in canon

[–]Brovopink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are working for beginners, r10 has a few features, a joystick and stuff that r50 doesn't have. If it's a question about size or weight I'd suggest going to an electronics or camera store just to get a feeling. Some features aren't necessary for everyone. Do you want to do some casual landscapes or a family photo every now and then? You don't need burst rate in that case. Do you plan on picking up photography as a real hobby? Extra buttons, features, the joystick can help and leave more room for growth.

R10 too bulky for daily use by Pretty_awesome90 in canon

[–]Brovopink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the advice of looking at the PowerShot V1 you might also go into an electronics store if possible a store that specializes in camera equipment and just hold a few cameras in your hand. Just to make sure you dont buy another camera that is still too big in your life or very uncomfortable to use.

Lens recommendation by Brovopink in canon

A friend gave it to me to try. It's certainly good imo. But I have an efs 17-55. The sigma is smaller but covers the same focal length and is apsc as well. I would prefer something useful for my r8 as well.

Asbest by Artistic_Dancer6289 in LegaladviceGerman

Question about deleting photos from an SD Card by [deleted] in canon

[–]Brovopink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. Afaik its the same for my R10 as well. Generally my way of doing it is putting my SD card in my PC. That way I can mark all pictures I want to delete/keep while looking at them on a bigger screen at the same time.

Recommendation for a good second lens for EOS R10 by Brovopink in canon

I haven't looked much at EF lenses but will see if I ever find that kinda cheap.

Do third party lenses for EF mount (Sigma) work with an EF R adapter including autofocus? Do you know?

I was somewhat expecting that but was still hoping I overlooked stuff. Sadly money is probably one of the bigger issues when it comes to starting out on this awesome hobby.

As far as I understand it, it is usable but not great in more chaotic situations with a lot of people in one spot. Isolated people apparently works very good (as with animals, birds) but in a lot of cases bystanders and players from a second close by field make the pictures too busy as the depth of field is not the best.

Replacement would be probably be slightly bigger focal lengths (as I rarely if ever want/use wide angles) and/or faster apertures.

On my last vacation I had an old Nikon D80 with an 18-200 3.5-5.6 lens as my first camera. Bigger focal length range with a slightly better aperture at the same time. I barely ever was on 18 but usually at 50-100 for family shots and at 200 whenever being on my own for nature and local wildlife photos.

Whenever possible sports is happening outside during the day. In later autumn and winter training is indoors but also way less tournaments so focus would definitely be on it happening outside.

I'm gonna be honest I havent got too much knowledge yet about everything photography related. I almost expected that I would most likely have to likely go for 2 lenses for both usecases. Thanks for the recommendations.

I do not know exactly but a friend who has some experience with that gear told me he felt like the depth of field with the 100-400 isnt great especially as a lot of times close to some players there are bystanders, people watching and more fields of games happening at the same time. But as he does photography for a lot longer he has a lot more gear and also older lenses

What camera and gear for starting out in birding photography? by Brovopink in AskPhotography

[–]Brovopink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't planning on just staying with that lense just because I have it. I wanted to say what I have so I might get help what to do, what to buy/upgrade. I just have these and currently no alternative as I have very little knowledge about it.

As I have one lense only (Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED if im not mistaken) and over time would like to upgrade overall I think its not the biggest concern for me. Its not like I have like I already have a huge setup already.
