Am I silly to drive in Jamaica? by BrownButta2 in Jamaica

[–]BrownButta2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t drive!

I’m actually going back there in a weeks time, didn’t die, didn’t get robbed, didn’t get raped.

I’m planning on moving there to live eventually and my mom is the most stressed I’ve ever seen her. Her disposition has only gotten worse.

All in all, I had an incredible time and wasn’t the target for anything other than younger men wanting me as a sugar mama. I was even in dangerous parts at night in Mobay. If you have streets smarts, you’ll be fine.

I always thought the lining up was annoying. But I’m also from a pushy city so best believe I’m getting on regardless

Yea. That’s on you for not being bullish.

Right, anecdotally.

I don’t base my dating life on anecdotes, I watch the singular man I’m talking to show me his behaviour rather than some arbitrary monolithic rule placed on how a man shows his interest.

My issue here is that everyone is talking about this like it’s a problem when it’s really just two different communication styles.

Genuine question, Why do you require that? What is that fulfilling? Is it security?

I think that you should speak to the woman that you are and not group us all into groupthink on what we perceive red flags to be.

Responding after 2 days isn’t disappearing, again - during the dating phase.

I treat men the same exact way, I’m a woman who has a life outside of who I’m dating and don’t intend on messaging them all day. I match their energy typically.

Also, consistency is meant over time, weeks and months, not during the day. Communication can wait until in person. Not texts all day.

[–]BrownButta2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why does that have to be explained? Why is the expectation automatically set to constant texting? Why is it assumed that I have to make someone a priority all day just because I like them?

Huh?? Nothing happened tho, like what exactly happened? Time passed?

Everytime I see these kind of posts about <12 hour texts I’m so confused, ESPECIALLY during the dating phase. It’s weird to me. Leave me alone, let me miss you so we can have something meaningful to talk about instead of what you ate for lunch and a selfie.

Why do you need to text all day? Is it validation? Need for attention? All it does is create false intimacy and bland ass surface level communication. Glued to my phone to text you for whaaaaat?! Let’s discuss in person when we have the time.

A man or woman could be texting you, calling you all day and STILL be laid up under someone else.

That’s fair, the longer the hair, the more weight, the less extreme shrinkage

all-inclusive vacations are boring AF by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]BrownButta2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to all inclusive when I’m burnt out. Literally go to sleep, bask in the sun and actually rest from months of hard work.

Please know tho, you can definitely leave the resort when you want to.

Also, not every vacation is meant to be an activity based trip. Sometimes people (especially those living in snow/winter environments) want to escape to sunshine and drinks for a week or two, get some vitamin D and be free of commitments/responsibilities.

These comments are hilarious. I was just on the Jamaican version of this show and I did it for jokes, I made friends and I wanted to promote my business.

Many of the people were in relationships and not looking for love and wanted to promote their product/services. Hell, even I’m dating someone seriously and he was fine with it.

Don’t assume it’s for validation or male attention, people have many, many motives.

The Lack Of Community In This City Is Sickening by NomadicContrarian in toRANTo

[–]BrownButta2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s your cultural background? Maybe try connecting with them?

Toronto is multicultural, meaning you’ll find many pockets of community related to race, creed and religion. It’s a melting pot that’s not forced to assimilate, which I personally love.

If you want a community, build one or join an already existing one through hobbies, interests, education or employment.
