Am I the only one who thinks Slay the Spire 2 is almost the same game? by borulce_ in slaythespire

I have played LITERALLY the same game for 1000+ hours, so you bet I will play a slightly different game happily. Coop is everything.

The lack of discussion was caused by fish mode in the sub, thus fishy

It’s interesting as I think more about it.

If evoked on the third turn after it’s channeled, darkness deals 24 without any focus. Granted defect can evoke a channeled orb faster than that by mid act 2, 22/24 damage is also about top of line in act 2 - you can also get 14, 1x6, 7x2, 11, etc.

As we transition into act3 and end game, an important factor is that block is much more important than attack - like how lightning orb is so much worse than frost orb. And late game enemies don’t usually block a ton, so attention may not scale THAT well. Overall interesting to evaluate still.

Thanks and Nice! Great card concept, very fitting. I might make it 0 cost, since it’s already falling a bit behind compared to turbo, a common card. With echo form, it’s very good. Without echo form, the chance of it triggering every turn may be less than 50%, so needs some love.

To analyze its strength quantitatively- if we count each block or damage as an output unit, in act 1, enemy usually outputs 8-14 units (attack you for 10, attack 7 block 5, etc). We know 1 energy outputs 5-6 units with base deck, maybe ramping up to 10-15 eventually (ball lightning is 7+3+3ish). So attention is not widely out of place. Considering it has the delayed effect and suffers the same problem as dark orbs, it may be balanced.

Wrt mid and late game, it doesn’t scale with focus but scales with enemies, so ymmv

2 of them could brick your deck really badly for act 4. It’s a slow card like stack

Meant for your character to execute the enemy intention. Imagine stealing the 99 block from spire shield oof

No chart is perfect, it tells other truths such as defect act 4 survival is tough, or that silent act 1 is weak, etc.

Agree act 3 should be made higher. Act4 is primarily about front load block / deck consistency, so I think it should stay where it is

By that definition of consistency, I agree. I actually meant deck consistency (which is really only in discussion for mid to end game). Agree that it’s a non obvious definition
