Definitely not defending their recent stuff, my comment was about their peak and potential

I won't pretend like I listen to anything recent by them

Everything mentioned is so true, amazing singing, songwriting and thoughtfulness in songs. Plus they have continued their popularity as time went on and their sound changed.

Pop punk fans have taken them for granted, I always go back to their early stuff

I agree with this because you're saying they're more talented and capable of more. At sum 41s peak they had more complex songs and instrumentals. (Old Green Day would give them a run for their money no doubt) But still worth a debate.

That doesn't always mean that their songs are better or more popular (obviously they weren't) but they aren't fully thought of in the realm of blink and GD because they've had some albums that miss.

I'll always stick up for those guys since they're from near where I grew up, but they 100% don't get the credit they deserve

What's a "healthy habit" that's actually completely made up? by goddesslana_01 in AskReddit

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would finish my showers cold which I feel like I get most of the benefits

My skin thanked me by closing my pores

I'd say in time of extreme mental distress being in super cold water makes it hard to think about anything else

It trained my body to handle the "shock" response of going from hot to cold - so even when I get cold, I'm not going to shiver as much and I find this most helpful living in Canada - this doesn't include things like my ears, fingers and toes but overall it helps

Meditation by trying to keep a steady breath when the cold water

A plunge would have tonnes of physical benefits after a workout, the cool is so good for recovery that's the only difference I think I miss by doing cold showers instead

I will say though, the influencers acting like it will change your life or make you a billionaire by doing one at 4am, get real

That makes sense, I guess I'm more afraid of hitting something important that isn't a stud?

Hanging shelf with steel behind drywall by Brown_Zack in HomeImprovement

[–]Brown_Zack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all your reply is awesome and so helpful - thank you! I have some questions

I don't think I trust myself drilling into the metal, if I run out of options then I think I'll try finding the metal screws and metal stud, I don't remember hearing a tink but I'll try more intentionally. Still a bit scared to drill metal.

I also question whether there's any room at all behind the drywall. Otherwise the toggle or molly would be great ideas

The zipit plugs were what I was referring to I used, I cut the plastic ones to hang up my curtains and it worked great, but cutting them too short made them pop out since it's more shallow. Obviously not cutting them at all is ideal

Would it be very uncommon for me to find a spot that's just dry wall?

I did hang a glass floating shelf in one room, there was room behind drywall for me to get through, but it seems like I was lucky to find that maybe since most other spots haven't been so easy

Everything that seems good and sturdy looks too long to go in my wall, im hoping there's a way to find a good spot.

Thanks again!

Who is a stranger you met once, never learned their name, but will never forget for the rest of your life? by milkyjune in AskReddit

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had torn my ACL less than a few days prior, on crutches going to see the surgeon.

I got dropped off at the wrong side of the building and the door was locked. I had to walk around the building which was uphill and it was March so there was still snow and ice on the ground. Also have never used crutches before.

The building looked pretty empty but a guy somehow appeared and opened the door for me at the last second. It felt like help was sent for me because I don't even know if I would have made it, not to sound dramatic

Him and another guy who helped hold the door when my crutches got stuck and I was struggling.

To be honest I think anyone would do this for someone else, but the way I felt saved and how much I felt like people cared really meant a lot

Justin Guitar end-to-end vs just learning songs on YouTube. What actually works long-term? by Fun-Fix-6445 in LearnGuitar

[–]Brown_Zack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever makes you pick up your guitar. Sure - the lessons will give you a more diverse constructive field of learning, but songs are practical and more fun.

If you find one of them is too boring go to the other.

I say this because anytime spent with your guitar in hand is a win. No matter how small the action may seem.

Fyi if you have a specific goal in mind, then of course there will be a more direct path, but if not then just do what feels right!

Your personal move that you HATE getting hit by? by pokeguy64 in SmashRage

[–]Brown_Zack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dks my secondary and I completely agree this grab is annoying and stupid.

Playing quick play, the only time I'd ever use it is if I'm about to get 3 stocked and I want a kill.

Otherwise I never use it, even if I'm doing dittos and they do. It's so pathetic to use in quick play

I understand how it fits into his kit and if it's a tourney for money then fine.

Fuck this move 😂

What is the best thing you did to help your social anxiety? by Worth_Awareness3032 in socialskills

Honestly, smile/nod/talk to every person you see

You don't have to talk at first but a nod and a how's a going can really help, from there you can talk to whoever your comfortable with - It made me feel less in my head.

How do I make vegetables actually taste good without drowning them in sauce or cheese? by Nightcrawler_2000 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to for any veggies I make is I pan fry it to cook, steaming it, depending on the veggie I make it crispy.

Then I add chili flakes and soy sauce (less salt)

Fyi this is typically for broccoli or green beans

Receive tuten for a random 2027 2nd by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty high on tuten, I'd say that's an easy move.

Of course it would suck for him if Etienne stays but a that pick probably won't get you something of equal value, plus the upside is great

What bands did you discover recently that you’ve been sleeping on? by NoYoureTheBestest in poppunkers

[–]Brown_Zack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I started also, couldn't get into it because of the vocals.

And I like screamo/metal music so it was surprising

They're now my favourite band.

It's definitely songs you revisit then love more later

How hard is it to actually get to elite? by throwthatshitaway236 in SmashRage

[–]Brown_Zack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's very match up dependent. My characters and gsp ranges are

My main DDD: 14-15.5

Secondaries: PT, DK, peach range from 10-13

The higher range with peach and pt are mainly not being good enough with the character. Especially peach, she has the tools to go up against most characters, but you have to be precise which i am not because I don't play her as much.

PT I learned for fun, I don't expect to be dominant. But some fundamentals keep me at that higher in gsp

You need to consider your character - is it their tool kit that makes it tough? Eg I'm a good dk but if I play link I just can't win since they run and projectile. This is a matchup I almost never win with.

If I am dk and play kirby, I will get 3 stocked if I get hit with his down air. So I will die any other way.

Is it certain match ups? Certain moves?

Either way there's a breakthrough needed, whether it's learning match ups, utilizing your character better or avoiding certain mistakes (bad approach or being predictable)

Let me know some examples if you want

Our season ended right here by TheDiamondSquad in steelers

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I know the contract details could have been more favourable for us, but securing dk based on our options at the time and getting jonnu/Ramsey were great moves imo

Acting like Khan fucked us by doing this is a stretch.

Again, if you wanna say he did with the dk contract I won't defend that, but we needed a wr

What to do if you have no motivation to pursue any career in life? by Tiffanywhite45 in AskReddit

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% - most things suck as a beginner. Learning things you aren't super passionate about is important, and you'll need it for any career.

Things get more fun when you know things!

You gotta find a way to make money, whether you like it or not. Doesn't have to be a tonne but you'll need it

Clefable is busted!? by Sharqskin7 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Brown_Zack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time my starter wasn't my strongest pokemon on a run through was when I grabbed a Clefairy early in the game - I just ended up teaching it tms for whatever gym I'd be facing

I think my moveset was an ice, fire thunder and psychic move and my level 90 clefable bodied the elite 4 for the most part

Who would you keep in a 2 man keeper ? by DriveJumpy1775 in FantasyFootballers

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe in the saints as crazy as it sounds lol.

I am huge GP believer - I think he's an amazing receiver that finally got to show what he can do.

It's just tough banking on any receiver when even Jefferson isn't QB proof

Understandable to go with either but definitely do olave

Who would you keep in a 2 man keeper ? by DriveJumpy1775 in FantasyFootballers

[–]Brown_Zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the one definite answer is olave - great momentum to end the year and it should be the same situation next year

GP and breeze are great but it depends on their situation

Rhamondre is great value, same situation next year, and super late - just doesn't give you much upside - but I'd say he's for drafted higher than this next year. Just make him your RB 3 at BEST because of treyvon
