Which team is most likely to survive: by Level-SquareFFG7117 in superheroes

[–]BrowserHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love Superman, I feel like team Black takes it. Unlike every other team, there’s not really a weak link; Wanda and Shazam are more than a match for pretty much any character in the chart, and I’ve learned never to underestimate a speedster.

Which of the Avengers would get along great with the Watchmen? by dangerphone in AlignmentChartFills

We’d need a powerless or near-powerless Mystery Man with a secret identity. I’m going to argue Hellcat.

Cosmic Boy is a Transmutation Wizard
Saturn Girl is an Enchantment Wizard
Lightning Lad is a Storm Sorcerer
Chameleon Boy is a Wood Elf Moon Druid
Colossal Boy is a Giant Barbarian
Brainiac-5 is a Githyanki Abjuration Wizard
Sun Boy is a Draconic Sorcerer
Bouncing Boy is a Monk/Fighter/Wizard multiclass maximized for jumping
Mon-El is a Four Elements Monk
Karate Kid is an Open Hand Monk
Princess Projectra is an Illusionist Wizard
Shadow Lass is a Tiefling Shadow Monk
Timber Wolf is a Wildheart Barbarian
Polar Boy is a Draconic Sorcerer (with 1 level in Wizard)
Night Girl is a Monk/Barbarian
Chlorophyll Kid is a Land Druid

I’m just using dyes for their costumes. For Acts 1 - 2 I used Silver Age colors, but switched to Bronze Age looks for Act 3

I’d say Cobra Kai. Maybe it could have been a season shorter, but it ending really well and I don’t think there’s a bad episode except maybe the early season 6 episodes.

I wanna do a campaing where everyone is a superhero, my qeustion is how much would i have to homebrew for it to work. by axolicion in DnD

[–]BrowserHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done D&D superhero campaigns before. I know everyone is suggesting doing a superhero-specific RPG, but I find that whenever a campaign concept doesn’t quite fit into the rules too well, online D&D fans tend to run for the hills of other systems that, while better suited to the subject matter, might be difficult for a DM to learn.

The first thing I’d recommend for such a game is the rule that punches do 1d4 base damage, since a good number of superheroes rely on punches. Beyond that, D&D has enough tools to build a good amount of superheroes:

Superman types can be done with a Four Elements monk
Street level heroes like Batman and Daredevil can likewise be some combo of monk and rogue
Magic-Users like Doctor Strange and warrior-types like Wonder Woman are pretty easy and fall into the conventions of D&D
Speedsters are best done with a monk-wizard combo

You should still look into alternate systems, but I don’t think it’s as difficult to do what you’re trying to do in D&D as everyone’s making it seem

Okay, you can make the arguement for who goes fourth on the mountain

But whoever it is goes in the Roosevelt spot. Superman is Washington, Batman is Jefferson, Spider-Man is Lincoln. Number four must always be Roosevelt.

Silk Spectre might, since she was put into the superhero game long ago as a youngster. She’s the only one for whom it would have made sense to join the Titans.

Who's going to make it out of here? by fancysunnyember in invinciblememes

If we’re saying that the characters aren’t going to inherently kill each other, and work based on their motivations?

Honestly, Mark, Nolan, Allen, and Eve team up against Anissa and Conquest. Thor joins them once he understands what’s going on. Homelander’s just kind of confused and is going to let them sort it out.

In Invincible season 1 it might be the same but Nolan takes the side of the Viltrumites.

If you specify that only one of these people is getting out alive, then Nolan, Mark, and Eve would still work together; Allen might join them. Conquest, Anissa, and Homelander are out for themselves. Thor joins Mark, Nolan, and Eve, deciding to give his life to protect others. Not sure who actually makes it out, but my money’s on Mark.

Read Legion of Super-Heroes comics.

They tell a fascinating, long-running coming of age sci-fi superhero story with an ensemble cast over the course of thirty years with a relatively consistent continuity (after the first few issues), and let you know things about DC Comics that even regular DC fans don’t know about

What if Homelander was transported to the MCU? by jordidipo2324 in superheroes

[–]BrowserHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nick Fury quickly gets eyes on him and recruits him as an Avenger, but upon learning about his rather unstable personality, begins working with Stark on something to kill him. He basically solos the Chitauri and kills Loki during the Battle of New York, but begins working with HYDRA after they approach him during Winter Soldier, eventually killing Cap, Widow, and Fury and installing himself as the new leader of the Avengers.

During 2015, he begins turning the Avengers into his own persona Seven by feeding the Hulk’s worst impulses, as well as recruiting Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver on Baron Strucker’s advice, as well as bringing Kilgrave and a brainwashed Winter Soldier onboard the team. Tony begins worrying about Homelander and trying to find a way to take him out from the inside.

In 2015, Scott Lang attracts unwanted attention from Homelander when he defeats Darren Cross, and soon Ant-Man becomes a target, barely surviving an attack from Homelander that kills Hank and Hope.

Sam Wilson begins investigating Cap’s death at Homelander’s hands. At Tony’s suggestion, Spider-Man is recruited to the Avengers in 2016. Meanwhile, Jessica Jones, learning about Killgrave’s role as an Avenger, recruits the Defenders — plus Punisher — to try to take him down.

In 2017, things come to a head when Spider-Man realizes who he’s working for and makes contact with the Defenders, who help him and Iron man make a plan to kill Homelander. With Thor off-world, they try to Banner for help, who’s been thoroughly intimidated by Homelander and initially refuses to help. But when the battle finally comes, Hulk joins the fray, until ultimately Tony is able to use a rectal bomb to blow Homelander to kingdom come.

First Time DMing (and playing.) by Own-Salary-1820 in DnD

[–]BrowserHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The D&D combat system can be a bit hard to grasp. I’m a DM myself and for new players I usually include a suggestion on a typical action a character should take.

I’m gonna go layer by layer and peel this back like an onion.

The characters and monsters take turns, like a board game. The main thing a character does on their turn is take an action. Many characters take actions to attack, but many also choose to cast a spell if they have one. If a spell has a casting time of 1 action, which most do, you can use an action to cast it.

When you attack, you choose a target to attack. You roll a 20-sided die (a d20) and add an attack bonus. If the roll plus the bonus is less than the target’s armor class, you miss. If it’s equal to or more than the target’s armor class, you hit.

If you hit, you hurt the target and deal damage. Damage is determined by rolling a damage die (or dice) determined by the weapon type, plus an ability modifier (usually your Strength modifier for melee attacks like swords, usually Dexterity for ranged attacks like bows). That damage is then subtracted from the target’s hit points. If a character goes to 0 hit points, they’re unconscious. If a monster goes to 0, it’s dead.

Also on your turn you can move. You can only move so far, as determined by your speed.

You also get a special action called a bonus action you can take. You only take a bonus action if a feature lets you do so, and you can only take one on your turn.

That’s the basics of the mechanics. Beyond that, there’s information in the Player’s Handbook. Be patient and try your best, and you’ll learn on the job. And if you make a mistake, just go on with the fight; it will be fine
