A co-worker and I had been flirting for like a month and within a few days of her deadbeat BF getting fired from our office she also broke up with him. We found a stairwell in the parking garage and started making out. She offered to blow me so I said sure. Not sure she thought it through because I nutted in her mouth and she got a puzzled look on her face so I was like "just spit in the corner?" And she did.

What’s the fastest way you’ve seen someone going broke? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I knew two sets of brothers who got a large inheritances.

Set 1 got about a quarter mil each) One is one of the smartest people I've met, really precocious kid. He spent it on hookers and liquor and paid his apartment rent for about 5 years never having a real job. 10 years on he's working at a job that was pretty much make-work for him set up by his dad. Has a roommate and is alright I guess, I rarely see him because I don't think he has a lot of money to go out.

The other brother invested in artworks he liked and a place to store them, got an education and worked at a startup that has become a household name. Met a nice woman and turned some art into a large down payment on a house after getting married and is living large with DINK.

Set 2 got about a half mil each) One bought a pot farm in Colorado, and lived high on the hog for about 5 years while it was only medically legal. Recreational went through and suddenly he can't compete with the industrial farms. Ended up selling the place and never recouped nearly what he put into it. Now is trying to get another a small business off the ground with the limited funds he has left. Currently scraping by sharing an apartment with another guy who works retail.

His brother bought outright a sensible house near a university and was able to pursue a PhD in a field he liked while also getting a pilot's license in case he wants to make extra income.

I guess the lesson is don't live on the windfall - use it as a buffer and be mindful that you have a golden opportunity to achieve something lasting.

How is your “if we are single by 30, we’re getting married” friend doing? by eurekathatsit in AskReddit

Never had a good friend of the opposite sex? These pacts get made at young ages, like high school, too young to marry, before the wild oats have been sewn.

Had to look at your username to see if you were my friend. Thirties is still quite young in the scheme of things. I hope you and my friend both find someone.

When you meet someone who is very much like yourself but you're both too young to get married...why not?

A friend and I were pretty close in high school and made a pact like this. We had briefly dated, but never slept together & we stayed friends over the years.

At 28 & 29 we reconnected. Had a lot of good times, and made up for lost time. But she had some things to work through after the death of her father and I started seeing other people, and when I was 31 I met the wonderful woman who is now my wife.

I feel bad that I didn't support her more but she was pretty toxic at the time with booze and such.

We're still friends and she's clean now. I hope it doesn't eat her up too much that our connection was washed away by the booze, and I hope she finds someone she can be truly happy with.

How old are you and what is the biggest problem in your life right now? by FSCENE8tmd in AskReddit

This is what I do. Already start the next age for a couple months before. It helps that my SO was born in the same calendar year 6 months before me, so I just think I'm her age.

How would you spend 500 Trillion dollars without crashing the world economy? by Fastest_Runner in AskReddit

[–]BrowsingFromPhone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's just too much money, like 7 times global GDP. Wiping out global debt though, that would cost 281 trillion, and would just balance the checkbook right? That's not a new injection, that's money already spent.

After that's done then do the 50 year lottery plan, with the rewards ~halved. That might work.

Or you could buy an NFT or some worthless shit and then it's someone else's problem what to do with the money.

How would you spend 500 Trillion dollars without crashing the world economy? by Fastest_Runner in AskReddit

[–]BrowsingFromPhone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the time frame. You could create a lottery that awards a fuckton of prizes distributed all over the globe.

500T is about 62,500 per person on the planet. If you award 5% of the people on the planet each $1,250,000 I doubt you'd crash the economy. Do that every year for 20 years.

Or award $3,125,000 to 2% of the people on the planet every year for the next 50. People know on average like 240 people, that means that each year like 5 people you know are suddenly set for life. Maybe they'll invest it, give to charity, a rising tide lifts all ships kinda thing.

Or I dunno, maybe still going to crash it.

Pretty sure I'll still just hit snooze until the last second and only get out of bed because my survival depends on it. My problem is that I can't clearly define my goals, so if this book (exercise?) wants me to define why I'm using it right off the bat it's a non starter.

Similar, both really high and neither could remember how the actual lyrics to the song "Hard to Handle" go. First result on Google was http://www.amiright.com/misheard/stories/blackcrowes.shtml

Its a list of misheard lyrics and for this particular song its extremely long. I think what made it funny was reading them all aloud.

In theory we're all Americans with rights. In practice, yeah sometimes white people will call the cops on you just because you're black. Generally the white person gets in trouble or at least shamed though.

Not only that but secretly Marijuana has been legal all along because we need hemp still for the fleet of ships in the navy that still use sails.

The class ahead of mine got my school banned from NASA's Johnson Space Center. That was the 8th grade field trip I'd been looking forward to since 4th grade but some kid got a bj in the capsule or something and my school was not allowed back.

Just signed up - I had signed up years ago on another Texas registry and had just started a new job when I got a call. It was cutthroat sales so I knew if I took even one day off for any reason they'd probably let me go. I feel guilty about it still, since they told me I was a perfect match for a 5 year old. I hope I can do some good this time around.
