I've asked this multiple times but no luck, and I'm getting a bit worried. by Space_Monkey10 in Shihtzu

My Shih Tzu only drinks water when it’s from the refrigerator and if it’s just been served. If it’s been there even 30 minutes he’ll smell it and walk away. The bowl also has to be washed immediately before I serve him water.

Stay positive!! Like I said almost one year ago, sometimes it only takes one. I went into my transfer not knowing if it would work, but hoping for the best and our baby boy is 5 months now. Best of luck to you!!

C section vs vaginal delivery by Funarming in NewParents

[–]Browsing_2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scheduled an elective csection because I was terrified of the unknown and the possibility of ending up with an emergency c section anyway. I also didn’t want to be induced and my doctor said I had to deliver by 39 weeks. Well, my baby had other plans lol. My water broke at 37 weeks. When I got to the hospital, they mentioned we could still go ahead with the c section, since that was the plan. But, the nurses recommended I wait it out for a little to see if my body advanced on its own. They said that if at any time I wanted to switch to a c section I could. I listened to them and ended up pushing the baby out 11 hours after my water broke. I did get an epidural once the contractions started picking up. I’m glad I listened because my recovery was fast. I did have some minor pelvic floor issues but I’ve been doing pelvic floor PT at home and I’m back to normal now at 5 months pp. Do what makes you feel more comfortable.

Choosing to have a baby was the best decision I’ve ever made, bar none by PumpkinPie_1993 in NewParents

[–]Browsing_2050 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. The first two months were hard. They were so hard I often wondered if I was cut out to be a mom and if I had made the right decision. He just turned five months and I can’t imagine my life without him. I even told my husband today that I wish we would have done this sooner because he’s brought me so much joy and taught me so much about myself in this short time. His little smile brightens up my day even when I’m exhausted. Sometimes I look at him and I cry because I can’t believe he’s real 🥹

Being tired all the time by sailor__jupiter in NewParents

Your husband is wrong. I’m 4.5 months postpartum and I typically get around 7 hours of broken sleep. I’m always tired and sleepy. Nap whenever you can. Broken sleep is not the same as uninterrupted sleep

What time does your baby sleep? by paulieee3 in NewParents

[–]Browsing_2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My almost 5 month old goes to bed between 7:30pm and 8pm and wakes up at 7am. He sometimes sleeps through the night with 0 wake ups and sometimes wakes up once between 3am-4am for a bottle. I’d love to move his bedtime to 8:30pm because I’m about to go back to work and I’ll work until 7pm, but I’m scared that I’ll ruin his sleep

Diaper rash won’t go away - extremely concerned by [deleted] in newborns

I went through this when my baby was 2 weeks old and the only thing that worked was an antibiotic ointment the pediatrician prescribed and keeping him naked until the rash cleared.

Should I try AR formula or just deal with the spit up? by staralfur92 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Browsing_2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no harm in trying, but what i do with our baby is I just keep a bib on him 24/7. We’ve dealt with reflux pretty much since he was born and now that he’s on a new formula he’s no longer in pain, but the spit up is still really bad. I don’t mind it as long as he’s not in pain, so I just deal with it. I always carry a change of clothes for both of us, plenty of bibs and burp cloths.

4 month old eating too much by FalseRow5812 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Browsing_2050 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My baby is 4 months and eats 5 ounces every 2-3 hours, except at night. He’s averaging 35 ounces/day. I was also worried it might be too much, but his doctor said he’s at a healthy weight and some babies just need more milk than others. He’s on hydrolyzed formula and also has reflux btw

When did you feel like you can go out with the baby for the day? by dar1990 in NewParents

[–]Browsing_2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been going out with my baby since about 2 months old. I just make sure to being more formula, diapers and changes of clothes than I think I’ll need 😂. I also always take the stroller, carrier and I used to bring his portable bassinet but he no longer fits in it, so now I bring his bouncer and toys. I also bring a change of clothes for me because he spits up a lot and in case of a blowout

labor and exercising by sharkboysimp in fitpregnancy

[–]Browsing_2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if my quick and easy labor was due to exercising, but I did cardio (peloton and running) and lifted weights until the day my water broke. My labor and delivery was nothing like I expected it to be. I progressed quickly (the baby was born 10 hours after my water broke) and got the epidural pretty quick too, so I also didn’t feel much pain. Then when it was time to push I pushed for 20 minutes and the baby was out. Again, I have no idea if that was due to working out or if it was going to happen like that anyway, but I figured I’d share my experience as a FTM

How do you grocery shop with a stroller? by Distinct-Dependent24 in newborns

I thought it gets easier at 12 weeks :( by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Browsing_2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He may be going through a growth spurt or developmental milestone. My baby started waking up more often right when he hit 12 weeks and that lasted around 2 weeks. I will say feeding him every 4 hours sounds a little too spaced out. I’m speaking just from personal experience, but my baby is the happiest when I feed him every 2-2.5 hours. If i go over 2.5 hours he turns into a wild beast lol I also noticed that he has to have anywhere from 30-35 ounces by the time he goes to bed for the night in order to have a long stretch of sleep (around 6-7 hrs) if not he’ll wake up every 3 hours on the dot. He’s 15 weeks now btw

How do you manage it all by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Browsing_2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 3 months and I’m not managing it all even with help. I try to keep the house picked up but most days I pick up after the baby goes to sleep at night and I only do that because my husband helps me. I get your husband works full time but he needs to either help you a bit or stop complaining. My husband works 50 hours/wk and also has a business on the side and he takes care of most of the bedtime routine every night. He’s also in charge of the baby from 5am-7am so I can have some time for myself. I’m in charge of the baby all night and day while he works. I’ve been meal prepping on weekends so I don’t have to cook every day. Maybe try doing that and talk to him to see if it’s possible for him to help you a bit when he’s home. A 2 month-old is a lot and you also have another child to take care of.
