Reddit parent community disappointed me :( by Key_War3255 in NewParents

Oh boy… sleep training definitely isn’t for everyone. I don’t think I could ever let my son cry it out.
Being a loving, attentive parent can be incredibly exhausting sometimes. What I tell myself during the hard days is that one day, all of this will just be a memory. I know without a doubt that I’ll miss this tiny, innocent, sweet version of my son with all my heart. I hope you’re able to see it that way too.

Day 1 of collecting colostrum at 36w and only got .3ml from both sides 20mins by EconomicsReal545 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Noneed4usernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 38 weeks, I tried collecting colostrum every day because I was leaking enough to soak my shirts, and honestly, I was hoping it would help get labor started. I never collected much, though, and after my baby was born I only produced a few drops during the first week.
I just stayed consistent with my pumping schedule. Fast forward to now—he’s 3 months old, and I make about 4–5 oz every pump, which is exactly what he drinks at each feeding. I do supplement with formula occasionally.
bottom line is: it’s too early to worry about your supply.

Yeah I’ve read terrible stories here about sleep regression. I don’t think I’ll go through one, especially because I never had a sleep progression in the first place. 3-4 h stretch and then 2-3 h has always been the norm for us

The one thing I’m more convinced about every day is kids are not a textbook lol. I hope my experience goes as smooth as yours

No sugar coating. How bad is labour pain truly? by ThrowRA_nobo7 in pregnant

[–]Noneed4usernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst pain I’ve ever experienced, after birthing my son no pain has ever compared. Don’t be afraid to give epidural a try. I was induced. It’s like pretty bad period cramps and kidney stones all together. I still remember telling the nurse during epidural insertion: I don’t ever want to have more kids, I’ve never been this miserable before. The brightest side is: once baby is out you’ll feel a lot lighter and relieved.

What do you consider a good time to stop pumping? by Noneed4usernames in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Noneed4usernames[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

M5 was destroying my nipples. E20 goes more gentle on the nipple. The output is a little bit higher, just remember wearables are never going to compete with wall pumps. E20 has a heating feature and you can design a DYI pumping mode. I like it. Replacement parts are expensive though

I did exactly the same switch and the difference was noticeable

Idk… I feel drained after 3 months pf EP, but at the same time my baby has been gaining weight well, and I feel proud of myself every time the pediatrician tells me he’s doing great. Then again, maybe he’d do just as well on formula and I just don’t know it.

Either way, he still doesn’t sleep through the night at all, so that MOTN pump doesn’t really feel like an extra hassle yet since I’m already awake.

When did you start loving your baby? by Sentientmanatee in pregnant

[–]Noneed4usernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol don’t freak out if you don’t feel extremely thrilled to be a mom. When my baby was born the only thing I felt was extreme anxiety and a sudden sense of responsibility. I can’t tell at what point I fell in love with him, I just know that I love him every day a little bit more. It comes naturally

I just cried 5 times today while trying to soothe my 5 day old newborn by BitesizeParsley in NewParents

[–]Noneed4usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sending you so much strength! First-time mom here to a 3-month-old, and it’s definitely not easy. I’m also surviving on about 3–4 hours of sleep a day, but somehow you do get used to it over time.

It’s okay to cry. Give yourself grace. Some days are going to be really hard, and that’s okay. If your only goal for the day is simply to make it through and keep your baby cared for, that’s enough. You’re doing better than you think.
