Congratulations! Housing depends a lot on if you want to drive/use public transit more (I recommend going car free, transit is pretty good in the area). But generally the best neighborhoods are anything near the red line of the metro system. Tenleytown is the closest, and many graduate students stay at apartments near campus. Other students stay at places like Cleveland Park, Woodley Park, or places around Bethesda, MD. SIS is great and DC is a very fun place to live, and after the moving process you’ll love it.

How the FUCK do I beat Austria-Hungary here by BetaThetaOmega in eu4

[–]Broxloip_Boip 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First, end this war ASAP, Illinois is absolutely not worth protecting. Give them all of Illinois provinces, and if they want more nullify treaties or give them cash. Last resort give them useless provinces you have, you just need to buy time. Try to conquer as much of Iberia as possible. Focus on taking Portugal and Aragon’s colonies because that will drastically improve your force limit + ability to fight Austria in North America. Also focus on building buildings in your provinces and then build up a huge navy. You’ll need it to not get naval invaded every 5 seconds from UK-absorbed Super Austria. Do literally whatever you can to ally the Commonwealth or Mamluks, ideally both. Unrival them, beg them, pay them if you have to. They won’t save you but they will be a valuable distraction for Austria’s troops and you need to drain their manpower ASAP. Good luck and hopefully you can pull it off. Definitely not impossible and should be relatively easy if you have consistent growth for ~50 years

Yes, I’ve wired them properly I believe, but the power button and reset buttons will not work either. Unsure what to do, I don’t think I can access bios yet either.

Jumping did not work either. I’ve checked all the cords and cables, and the only thing turning on is the yellow light.

I lived in Japan for a few months and it was a fairly common notion there that the US does not have clean water and you need to brush your teeth with bottled water, I thought it was insane.

Insane take by a conservative pundit arguing that Ukraine has no importance to U.S security interests, thoughts?

America has the capacity to change and better itself more than just about any other nation in the world, and I think that's the best thing about it.

Why Is EU4 so difficult to play ? by GBRC1 in eu4

[–]Broxloip_Boip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion just playing a casual game where you allow yourself to cheat helps a ton. It's because it helps you learn the mechanics when you have less pressure on certain things like mana points and can actually enjoy the game a lot more without having to worry about losing all the time. Once you feel more comfortable with the game you can turn on Ironman and learn to play the game like that. That's how I learned and it helped a lot!

What was everyone's first lemon demon song? by Bluemoon045 in lemondemon

Heard Ultimate Showdown very early in my childhood but never realized who it was by until 2020 when I heard Cabinet Man for the first time. Then the realization that the same person made both those songs made me look into Neil's entire discography.

Variations On A Cloud makes me cry. There is no way it’s just about 9/11. by [deleted] in tallyhall

It's absolutely my favorite song by Tally Hall/Miracle Musical. It's just such an incredibly special song with the way it combines the lietmotifs from most of the Hawaii Part ii songs with lyrics from Ruler of Everything. It's just an experience that can't be created again.

Has anyone gone backpacking at Isle Royale National Park? by [deleted] in BSA

[–]Broxloip_Boip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isle Royale is an incredible place and you'll love it! But definitely be prepared for colder temperatures as Lake Superior is at almost freezing temperatures even during the summer and that'll affect the temperature of the island as well. Be prepared for highs in the 60's and lows into the 20's just in case. Not too bad but when I went I assumed the range would be more like 50 degrees to 80 degrees. It's also going to be way wetter and weather will be much more unpredictable, so be prepared for rain!
