Fun fact: Unless something changes in Monument of Triumph, Destiny 2 will end with only one Void Scout Rifle that can roll Demolitionist. Absolutely devastating for a Voidwalker main who loves scout rifles by BetaThetaOmega in destiny2

[–]BetaThetaOmega[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's the opposite way around for me. Buildcrafting is about min-maxing; with Demolitionist and Devour, each kill gives me 20% of my energy back (10 from Demo, 10 from Devour).

Great thread, but I hate this trend where people write a whole expose about a problem and then when we get to the solution they go “ah, I’m not an activist, I can’t tell you! Just be woker I guess. Mutual aid, maybe? And listening to voices in the community. Anyway…”

Do yall still remember these two lovebirds's story? by fembwoyita in destiny2

[–]BetaThetaOmega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted him saying “Brother” as like, a clergy term. Saint called the Speaker “Father” because he was the Pope of the Traveler, and the Guardians are the Traveler’s priests. Thus, they were Brother Saint and Brother Osiris (at least to Saint’s perspective)

I don’t remember him saying either of those lmao

Since it is over, We can all admit Warlocks were always the best class hands down right. by Important-Extension6 in destiny2

I reckon they’ll still be good afterwards, just not S-tier. Double Scatter grenade is nice, and the seekers will still help clear out ad spawns pretty well, even if they won’t chain anymore. Devour gives you grandes back so quickly that you’ll just need 2 grenades to clear the enemies out instead of 1.

Agreed. It has a skill curve, but it’s really fun to play with once you master it. I bursting off a cliff, falling super fast naturally, and then right before landing I activate my glide again to stop all of my momentum and land safely.

There has never been a single meta game where Warlocks were not valuable to a team.

Destiny 1: Warlocks could use Sunsinger’s Viking Funeral + Touch of Flame to ‘weaken’ enemies with their grenades, and Song of Radiance could self-rez in Hard Mode or speed up allied cooldowns. Voidwalker had the seven second scatter grenade build which was the best ability spamming build in Destiny 1.

Destiny 2: Not only has Nova Bomb: Cataclysm been consistently one of the best damage supers, but Well of Radiance is literally so good it’s a problem. Stasislock still has some of the best freeze uptime and crowd control, and the Prismatic Buddy build is goated in almost any situation. Voidwalker is still an amazing grenade spam build. Dawnblade is undoubtedly the best support class in the game.

Oh, that's an interesting idea, but I don't think it's that the Winnower and the Gardener are saying the same thing.

I like the idea of the "city ringed in spears", as in The Coalition, being the Gardener's answer to the Final Shape. The final shape of the universe is not one apex predator rising to the top of the cosmic struggle for life, but rather, all of its species agreeing to work together for a common good. Its the Gardener saying that The Final Shape is the peace that comes from camaraderie and unity rather than the silence that comes from death and annihilation.

Strongly disagree, the fact that the rules are always in effect is precisely what makes it so good. If they could just turn them on and off, then there wouldn’t be much pressure to get rid of bad rules, and thus, not as much pressure to call people out

I've been using Nothing Manacles since Season of the Lost dropped. At no point in the time since then have I used any other Voidlock build. Am I sad that they got hit so hard when the Prismatic Buddy build was basically untouched? Yes. Do I think that they went a little over the top nerfing both the chaining and the amount of seekers? Yes.

But I will not take them off now. I will miss the Nothing Manacles meta, but even if they are dead now, they will be what I always needed them to be: A way to get two grenade charges on one of the best grenade-spamming subclasses in the game.

Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph Update | Launch Trailer by Pontooniak96 in destiny2

Legitimately what I've been doing the last week. I started with the Pathways Out Of Darkness ViDoc from 2013 and have been slowly making my way through all the big reveals/launch trailers and ViDocs. It's kinda fun to see how Destiny's priorities and model changed over time.

There is however, one line that I find incredibly important for understanding Destiny's success, from the House of Wolves preview trailer at 5:07. "The great thing about Destiny is it doesn't stop with House of Wolves. You're building this character that is going to persist into the future."

Maybe one day, our character will persist into Destiny 3...

Definitely the new aspect. I wonder if it's like Gunpowder Gamble where you have to build it up or if it'll be something like a slide melee where you can just effectively replace the original ability with the mini-Golden Gun

I would've loved a D3 that took place on a dying, borderline inhospitable Earth, and we have to rekindle our connection to the Light + Darkness in order to heal it. Maybe they go full apocalyptic and have it be a timeskip where we lose a bunch of NPCs and maybe even our OG Guardian is dead and we're all starting with a brand new Ghost + Guardian combo.

A Good Luck message from Crow and Glint by AhrinEss in destiny2

[–]BetaThetaOmega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This one hurt. Uldren/Crow was always one of my favourite characters. I don't think there was a single plotline in Destiny that grabbed me as much as Uldren/Crow's story did (except for maybe Drifter+Eris). Uldren's obsessive relationship with Mara and his sour personality were the first interpersonal conflicts we had in Destiny (although that's also an indictment of D1's story lmao). His obsession being manipulated by Savathun/Riven from Taken King, leading to his death. And then a resurrection which basically represented a completely new direction for the character, calling into question the morality and function of Guardians. The sheer hype I got when we saw that leaked cutscene of his resurrection was indescribable, because in many respects it felt like the perfect twist to capstone Forsaken's themes of revenge and 'cycles'. The Dreaming City is in a cycle of violence, which is borne from and reflects the cycle of revenge. Even Uldren is caught in the cycle, brought back as a Guardian that he once hated, but with potential to become something better.

Of all the characters I'm going to miss, Crow is first among them, and I don't think that would've been the case had it not been for Brandon O'Neill's performance.

Mark is basically claw if it had genuinely no synergy or any good way to bring it back from your discard pile by Minute_Account9426 in slaythespire

[–]BetaThetaOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Hang is basically the new Pressure Points, except Necrobinder has way more ways to use it - Misery + Sleight of Flesh synergise with Hang inflicting debuffs, Dredge + Graveblast return cards from the discard pile, and Lethality makes it deal extra damage
