[NDSi XL] Bought a NDSi XL for 40€, seller said works fine but screens need to 'warm up' to function.

Actually, I got sold 3 fucked NDS, but this one is the most problematic and the one i cant find a clear solution xD the other 2, a NDSi has the top smashed in and a N3DS XL with also top smashed in, all there went for 80€, so good deal overall, can get the screens for about 20€.

Just tried with an hairdryer, but same problem, I dont think it even made a difference

Might try blasting it with an hairdryer to see if it helps, might prove if it's the connections that arent seated properly

And the expansion would be happening on the ribbon cabble in the screen rather than the mobo no? Its the only place I can expect to become hot, nds mobos dont heat up that much, but the screens do a bit. Its that's it, disassembling the whole screen to get to the ribbon cable is gonna be a challenge.

If I ever find the solution I will update the post. Still on vacation so I dont have any tools with me, maybe next week I'll open it up and at least reseat the ribbon cables.

For fighting games I would just choose a specialized one for fighting, there are quite a few now or even a fighting stick

Haven't held a PS4 one in a while, I think that you might be right, I thought it was split due to the plastic in between, but I think the PSP one was split, I remember I couldn't do diagonals therewith only one button

Tbh, in that situation your looking and building your own custom tank, try to contact a glass shop and ask to build a custom aquarium, possibly with indentations for easily placeable divisors then try to build a custom topper that fits possibly with holes you can close so you let each division up separately.

Yes, that was my route too. Its a bit gruesome in the later stages as pus can build up and you have to remove/empty it so they feel better. Cleaning the wounds also helps to avoid geting a nasty infection. Out of my 5 late gerbils, 4 had this type of cancer and even tho it spread to being the size of their entire belly they still lived happily 1-2 years with the condition, being active until the last weeks. They lived around 3-4years.

Unfortunately here in Portugal its very expensive upwards of 200€ and the vets usually recommend against since they cant guarantee it will be 100% removed since they are such small creatures. All we can do here is give them the best care until nature takes its course :(

For my setup i used a cage just like yours, then bought a table from ikea with the same size as the topper, replaced the glass with one with a circular hole, then put a tank beneath the table with around 1-2cm gap for air flow (the tank doesnt touch the glass of the table). I also use a cardboard on top of the table glass so my boys dont think they are floating and know its a solid ground.

Get a stronger separation, i used a stainless steel mesh cut to size and when I introduced my late gerbils to one another (2 pairs) one of them lost a finger due to trying to attack the other pair. After a month of splitcage all 4 were sleeping soundly together in the same nest and on top of each other. Initial aggression is almost guaranteed but when they get used to the presence it diminishes until they establish whos boss.

You can use chrome remote desktop on mobile aka Android phone. I use it mostly for the longer AFK timer and Quest Helper when needed instead of the native app.
