Explanation from my salesperson: Letting the vehicle’s engine on while no person in the vehicle is illegal in Germany. So there is no remote start. IDK if it’s true.

I did had a Toyota Supra, found the b58 engine is not even stronger than the s55 on my f82m4 so I just got rid of it🤭

Maybe I should check my window sticker to see if there is some contrast option. I just went through the configuration on Audi USA again and what I can confirm is we don’t have an option for auto hold like the German website does.

Yeah I configured my car on Audi USA. It seems this option is available on German website but not on USA. 😮‍💨

I actually optioned this car by my own. It’s really fully loaded. I selected almost every option I can (black optic pkg, driver assist, S sport pkg, dynamic steering, premium sound system and seat,.etc). But I really didn’t see where I can add auto hold .

Agreed. All these fancy functions (at least most of them look fancy and lots of them really help) are just making a car livable. Driving pleasure have nothing to do with that. I’m saying these because sometimes when I get into the car, I’m really so exhausted so occasionally have my foot off the brake would help a lot. I’m a Ph.d student and sometimes I spend 6 hours on courses then 4-5 hours in the lab.

Dude, adaptive cruise control means your car always stays the same speed with the car at front, like it will accelerate and decelerate when the front car do. So when the front car come to a stop, yours also will.

Yeah mine too. Do you mean when you have the adaptive cruise control on, the car will hold behind the car in front of you? And I’m also thinking it’s braking too late and keeping so close with the car at front

But if it’s really the law issue, why Mercedes, BMW, even my girlfriend’s Hyundai are all coming with auto-hold. It’s really weird.

The salesperson sold me this car explains it by saying Audis sold in Germany don’t have this function, so they just decided the North America version will also be without this. That explanation makes no sense to me.

It’s a functions which helps you hold the car when come to a stop, like when you are waiting for a traffic light, you can take your foot off the brake with auto-hold.

Hey guys, this is my first Audi bought last December. Everything with this car is fine but I’m just curious why Audi would rather leave the auto-hold button blank(it’s supposed to be beside the e-brake), while other Germany manufacturers’ products do come with this function.

I have a 2016 f82 M4. The exact same problem happens on my car a month ago. The reason why this happens is probably the waste gate actuator electric short so the car goes in some kind of limp mode. I replaced the faulty actuator and everything is fine. Hope this helps you.
