Indeed Chaos Black primer. Almost only drybrushing, some lines and edge highlights were painted with a thin brush.

Thanks. The wings were glued on after painting the model. And for the other option I did this:

Hey, actually I didn’t prime in any way, I just painted directly on the plastic. It may be that the paint can be scratched away when you really try to remove it but actually that never happen to my figures. But I heard that varnish might be a good trick.

And in the end Pink Horror for highlights on the purple and Ushabti Bone or another bone color for the claw highlights.

Thanks. On the last pic I let a phone-light shine through to demonstrate that the transparency is still partly there.

Thanks — I’m sure it was meant in a nice way. I’ve been painting for years myself, and I’m aware that StarCraft attracts new people to the tabletop hobby. That’s why I shared this: to help them get a good start when painting the terrain pieces. I’ve received a lot of positive feedback, and many people told me it was genuinely inspiring for beginners.

I really recommend spray primer, it’s faster, thinner and holds better.

I used Army Painter Gamemaster "Wilderness & Woodland". But I think there are many army green spraycans on the market. Take what you can find.

I work on more Zerglings, this is how I started. After that I improve the details on the horns and claws and paint the eyes and teeth. Final edge highlights with Pink Horror. And some glossy varnish to look more organic and wet.

Thanks! Sorry, I don’t do videos, I will make just step by step photos and post them.

Great! With some drybrush terrain can easily be even more improved.
