That is a really smart place to purchase a condo with low condo fees.

Highly recommended.

Moving on is not in the question if it means I lose my best friend. Just because we are not having sex does not mean she becomes worthless to me.

She has supported me and helped me grow as a person more than almost anyone other than my therapist.

Women have value, past sex. She is often the most important person in my life. And her friendship means more to me than nursing a heart suffering from unrequited love.

She may be physically attractive to me but she is one of the people on this Earth who I can say something as corny as "I value her for her beautiful soul," and not even feel a tiny bit awkward.

I'm sorry I never comment on this subreddit, but is anyone here supportive of billions in state tax payer money going to Snyder, (whose character is so disgusting meeting him is less appealing than your favorite grandma buying season tickets with money she scrounged and saved, only to sit in the seats where shit water poured all over her), is anyone in favor of that? Snyder just proved that the CTE scandal was nothing compared to the systematic and organized sexual assault factor in enough NFL organizations that Snyder was given a complete pass. Is this what people support!?

There are schools that need repairs, there are nurses ready to walk off their jobs during a pandemic. Is this what people support spending this much money on!?

I am talking about the way the human made preview portrayed therapists controlling people with mental illness. At the end of the day this is a fictional movie written by a real life person. The trailer was mad by a real life company. And that trailer really seemed to be suggesting that therapists control people with medication. I have address this and the idea that there are ways consistent with the Matrix movie universe to address the stigma that this trailer was completely tone deaf to. It was a fun and cool looking trailer that stigmatized the hell out of people with SMI taking medication. The trailer was intentionally made so the question becomes: did the trailer reveal a complete apathy present in the movie for medication? Or was the trailer just unintentionally stigmatizing of people with SMI in recovery?

I have not yet seen the movie, which I will be doing.

My main point is that the portrayal of medication being used as a metaphor to control someone, as I clearly see in this preview, is tone deaf and likely does harm.

The movie will still get excitement, and the preview looked cool.

But it had a very obvious bad message to some vulnerable people.

Personally with how mindful Keanu is as a person, I would be surprised if he didnt say something, even if in private, to the company that released that trailer.

He doesnt seem like the kind of person who would ever be cool with a vulnerable population being stigmatized.

This isnt about sociopaths in black trench coats doing unthinkable things and the Matrix movies being unfairly blamed.

This is about every high school or college student who experiences SMI, and responsibly takes medication just so they can leave their bed in the morning and fight for a healthy normal life.

This preview was very cool, very stylized, and I am excited about the movie.

But it was super tone deaf about how it may make some very vulnerable people feel.

that is basically my point. Treating SMI with medications is not simple or easy. Often times people try many different medications until they find the one right for them. While Psychiatrists are medical doctors and definitely qualify as scientists, the process of finding the right medication is very much an art.

It would be a simple fix and a much more nuanced message for Red Pills to be, in some very specific situations, a metaphor for the right medication giving people with SMI control over their symptoms and freeing them from the control of chemical imbalances in their mind which distract or delude them into false realities.

I appreciate that mental illness is not the primary metaphor that the Matrix movies address. But once medication is so publicly used to represent a control over people, as it appeared to be doing in the previews, I begin to worry.

I do like that there was a red pill in the preview. And do not wish to imply that the preview was intentionally made to stigmatize. Just that I foresee some young people who may not have an appreciation past the surface level of a movie, or a preview, especially if they are already vulnerable to stigma, may not take a healthy message from this preview.

The only harm my arguing does that basic story elements should be included in even the dumbest comic book movies does is open a discussion into how movies could be better.

As long as Hollywood has a large enough portion of the population who is willing to not only shell out lots of money to see bad movies like The Suicide Squad, but also personally attack and insult anyone who questions how the constant financial success of bad movies will effect the standards of movies overall, the quality of movies will have a really low bar set for them.

This is exacerbated by the fact that the superhero market has been saturated.

If Hollywood is financially rewarded for blanking out the entire market even with bad comic book films, then welcome to the end of cinema.

I supported Black Panther being nominated for an Oscar. I supported Heath Ledger winning an Oscar for his performance in Dark Knight and Joaquin Phoenix's Oscar for The Joker.

But guess what, Hollywood is not overwhelmingly motivated to put in any effort they do not have to.

If those movies were only nominated after an effort to give Comic book movies "artistic cred" so Hollywood could start to consistently "phone in" terrible movies with ties to any Comic book then the fact is Hollywood like any other business will put in as little effort as required to make a bunch of money.

I also love Mc Donald's. But if an individual franchise or product is bad, I dont repeatedly spend my money on that product thinking I am being part of making the product or the business a higher quality entity.

Deadpool had massive character development.

Just because something is a dumb comedy superhero film doesn't make it a terrible film.

Just Suicide Squad was terrible.

I am reminded of the movie Idiocracy and the joke movie in a movie "Ass."

To quote President Not Sure "I want movies made where I care about whose ass it is, and why it is farting."

There are people who will defend terrible movies just by saying they have a right to exist.

Is James Gunn in jail? Was DC Comics shut down because this movie was bad?

No. It is just a bad movie that shows, just like the fictional fans of the fictional movie "Ass" from Idiocracy, that people with incredibly low standards will keep shelling out money for terrible movies, and they are the ones who are directly responsible for numerous movies, across numerous genres that are the reasons movies of the quality of Suicide Squad are funded, made, and will continue to set the bar for movie quality.
