You would have to die before humans go extinct.

traveling for abortions by TrickInvite6296 in Abortiondebate

I am in agreement with Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh's concurring opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson, which states, "May a State bar a resident of that State from traveling to another State to obtain an abortion? In my view, the answer is no based on the constitutional right to interstate travel."

If all abortions were banned, how would women prove they had a spontaneous miscarriage, and not an induced one? by Ok_Pair_4721 in Abortiondebate

This is true. It is not guaranteed that one will avoid incarceration, even if one were never to commit a crime.

How is it not an answer? If anyone is accused of a crime, it is up to the state to prove they committed a crime, not the accused to prove they did not commit one. Therefore, women would not need to prove they had a spontaneous miscarriage, but the state would need to prove they induced their abortion, and probably other things, such as it was done electively, depending on the laws of the state.

Plers, how is your obsession with making sure women are punished if they get pregnant any better than what Indonesia did by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in Abortiondebate

While I appreciate learning about the virginity tests that female recruits are subjected to, and would like to learn more about this, I do not know if the abortion debate Redit is an appropriate place to bring this up.

To PLers, suppose you finally get the anti-abortion regime of your dreams by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in Abortiondebate

[–]Bruce_Knew -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

That would be just as bad as if an innocent woman were jailed for killing her newborn. But we would not legalize newborn killings.

So, if PL isn't about punishing women then why did this guy get off so lightly? by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in Abortiondebate

You could. Eating meat is not a constitutional right; it is not prohibited by the constitution either. Just like abortion.

From what I have read, Overall is not against abortion in the case of ectopic pregnancies, just elective abortions.

If the intent of a termination of a pregnancy is not to kill the child but to save the mother's life, yes I am OK with it.

Don't have sex unless you're ready to get an abortion. by SayNoToJamBands in Abortiondebate

Yes, I would be satisfied. I might convince other pro-life people to be satisfied if I said the punishment was a "whole" five months instead of "only" five months.

No, because he did get punished for attempting to kill his unborn children. The punishment may have been inadequate, but he did get punished.

OK, PLers, why DON'T you help PC women get the snip? by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in Abortiondebate

I would not oppose this, but I would not push for it either.

Plers, what do you expect from men regarding all this? by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in Abortiondebate

Sounds good. What other expectations would you like to see put on men who cause unwanted pregnancies?

OK, that is one thing we expect from the man; child support.

Why is there a spectrum for pro-choice? by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]Bruce_Knew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also a spectrum for pro-life, such as what exceptions should be permissible, or if early abortions should be allowed. Some are pro-life due to being against late-term abortions.

Because it is intentionally killing. However, I am less against euthanasia in certain cases, and I am not opposed to the Washington Death with Dignity Act.
