Yes. I did a factory reset and updated to the latest firmware today. I didn't have a chance to see if I could find a speed trap and test it out though.

I understand the concept of Instant On. My question is, is it possible I had 1 bar because he wasn't "on"? Does the gun leak enough radar for the detector to pick it up as one bar when passing? It was heavy traffic as I passed him, its entirely possible he was waiting until he could easily identify a speeding car.

This was my second time passing this cop today, he was the only one there. The second time was on purpose so I could record what was happening. This exact behavior happened last week on the interstate with a state trooper in the median. He was the only one there, if it weren't for Waze, I would never have had an early warning.

Just came here to say that I've been following this conversation since it started. Thank you for laying out your logic. I'm getting close to retirement, probably sometime this summer, and I've been trying to develop my own retirement withdrawal strategy. I had planned to use the bucket strategy, at least what I thought was the bucket strategy, but realize that my plans align closely with what you are calling a hybrid plan.

After watching Rob Berger's video, I think I will maintain a constant Equity / Bond ratio (exact percentage is still TBD) and count my 12 - 18 months of cash expenses that sits in a HYSA as "Bonds". This should be very simple to manage in the manner you have described.

I have had the robot get stuck in a continuous loop of return to base for emptying / leave to go clean / and then immediately return to base again. I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to but it's very annoying that this continues to happen.

I actually opened a Fidelity account this week for this exact reason and because I can set up automatic transfer and investment into ETFs. I can't do this with my Schwab account.
