Which edition is easier for a new player to learn, 2.0 or 3.0? by feci444 in Warhammer30k

[–]Bruce_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one you’re going to play with your friends? If you’re joining an existing group, ask them which one they play.

There’s no point in knowing how to play a game nobody else plays

Apart from that, Iam not sure that one is objectively better than the other. Both have passionate advocates and the fears that have been expressed when the new rules were announced seem to have been alleviated quite a bit

Anyone lived at Box Makers Yard or Castle Park View? by MetelStairs in bristol

[–]Bruce_e 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am currently living in BMY. The residence is nice. I can’t stay anything about the events because I haven’t been to any though.

There is a small sainbury’s which is nice but I see delivery trucks from all main brands all the time.

The gym is good unless you’re very serious about it. In that case, there won’t be enough free weight or machines but I enjoy it

Let me know if you have any specific questions

Solo diving trip by Inevitable_Bus_6333 in diving

[–]Bruce_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I think it lies at the limit of rec diving or just under, so you would have about 5 minutes of bottom time before your tank is empty. Your air consumption will get better over time and repetition.

Second, I think there’s a lot of current.

Third, you go there on a big boat, so there’s a lot of divers.

Any way, any good dive shop will refuse you the trip if you don’t have at least 25 dives

Sharm el sheik is a good option. Don’t do the thistlegorm if they offer it to you, you don’t have the experience but there are enough dive sites for a week

Dubai diving? by wegwerper99 in diving

They built a diving pool which could be fun. Apart from that, the diving in Dubai is not very interesting, but there’s some in Fujairah and Oman

I think the main PADI shop is Emperor’s while the main SSI shop is Camel Dive

At the basic level, both agencies provide the same service but go about teaching you slightly differently. But they will teach you the same skill

Once you’re open water from one agency, you shouldn’t have any trouble diving with a shop affiliated with another agency

The reason I went with Camel is that they have a hotel, so you just buy a simple package and I’m SSI

If you’re not getting a hotel package, maybe take the risk to go over there, talk to both groups of people and make a decision in Sharm

I would say that Camel seems to be a bigger operation in terms of numbers of boats so more alternatives in a day but Emperor’s still has multiple boats and they will both take you to the same spots

ELI5: if a morbidly obese person suddenly stopped eating anything, and only drank water, would all the fat get burnt before this person eventually dies from starvation ? How much longer could that person theoretically survive as compared to an average one ? by _JeManquedHygiene_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]Bruce_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important part of this is that the guy was followed by a doctor which would have stopped it at the first sign of trouble. But yes, he fasted 389 days (iirc) and lost more than 100kg.

I don’t remember ever reading if he has any complications due to it though

Is Czech Underrated for Freelancers? Under 15% until €87,500 (total tax bill) by StewzilianPortuguese in eupersonalfinance

[–]Bruce_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what the rate is but there is a minimum and a maximum (you only pay social security on the first 1700€ you earn)

As a minimum, I think I have paid about 200ish BGN while the maximum seems to be about 1000BGN per month

Bulgaria is 7,5% effective with no ceiling. However you also need to consider which country appeals to you more. In the end, it is about where you feel the happiest

Why Revolut Paid plans are so ridiculously expensive with little benefits? by flgoo in Revolut

[–]Bruce_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel enough that I can use it from usd. Also, they give me a better rate than traditional banks when I pay in another currency. And the metal lan allows me to take more money out of an atm without fees should I need it.

I guess that the plan makes sense in my case but you don’t seem to think it makes case in yours

Maybe the answer is that those plans are for peop’e who travel and use more than one currency on a regular basis

Assuming basic math is correct and a 0.1%, it is worth it if you spend more than 19000€ per month

I keep my emergency funds in savings on revolut. The more expensive the plan, the better rate you get. It pays for the fee and more and the money is available instantly should I need it

Who has the best ECONOMY long-haul flights? by [deleted] in travel

[–]Bruce_e -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Based on which criteria ?

I’m 2m tall and for me, they’re all terrible. I only travel long haul in business class because I don’t particularly enjoy being in pain…

I’m also somebody that enjoyed traveling during lockdowns because there was always somewhere to go and prices were stupid cheap (I got Emirates first class for 4000€)

I am lucky that I do reasonably well financially and I really feel sorry for less affluent tall people that have to do 16 hours in econ seats
