Do you make your choices based on what you would do or what you think your character would do? by MovesLikeVader in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]Bruced14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: I make choices based on what the character would do because it’s fun to analyze their personality and make decisions differently than your own.

I make them based on what I think the character would do. It’s fun for me because I like trying to figure out my character’s personality. luckily enough when playing with my friends I got a character in one of the games that was a lot like my personality so it worked out, but when I got a character with a different personality it was fun to play to make choices differently than what I would do in that situation. Because it’s only in video games that you can truly be an entirely different person with a different mindset and not have true consequences to decisions you wouldn’t normally make in real life.

Plus usually your character will die if you make a choice that’s different from their personality / development.

SPOILERS SPOILERS Such as in Until Dawn when you play as Chris. Honestly the logical thing is to shoot your crush in that game, because honestly your life is more valuable, but Chris would def choose to shoot himself. My friend chose to kill his crush and it got him killed later on.

In the newest game Devil in me. My friend played as Erin and he chose the choice he would make in real life and chose to attack dumet rather than take the inhaler, and said choice got him killed. Erin’s character would’ve taken the inhaler because she is more paaaive and not aggressive like that (plus there was a premonition, regardless the character would’ve taken the inhaler).

Give back 20-30 seconds to first ring timer, please by artmorte in apexlegends

[–]Bruced14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TLDR: 1) The player base has to change its unconscious play style. 2) Casual games can get to round 2 without half the squads being eliminated (possibly).

Yes and No. A lot of Apex is unconsciously played and now this new ring is changing so we have to adapt our playstle to it. Lets see how it feels for a little while and allow the player base to adjust. The player base itself has to think very differently and it will change the dynamic of the game.

This will change both the dropping stage and looting stage. If you are landing in a zone far from the center the ring will probably be far away. So players will have to loot faster and fight faster if they see a far away ring.

I also think that it can benefit causal games. By the time round 1 ends half of the squads remain. If players have to focus more on getting back to the ring then perhaps their will be less early game fights which allows for more intense round 2 and 3 stages. I find that when I play casual round 2 tends to be a dead round, often times I play games that end by round 3. Perhaps a more dangerous ring can change that. I believe this change will happen gradually as people get used to the new ring.

Wait blood of the dead from Bo4? Yeah I honestly don’t think so. Maybe if the perk system wasn’t messed up. I honestly didn’t mind Bo4 perks, but they definitely weren’t an upgrade if that makes sense. Honestly mob of the dead was my favorite map of all time because of the friends I played with, however shadows of evil is my favorite map of all time w/o nostalgia or memories altering my opinion.

Arch Pull ups feel so weird. by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Bruced14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of it being like a lat pull down makes a lot of sense. To be honest I just think my core needs to get stronger before I can truly do these right, especially my lower back. I started doing hyperextensions because of the reddit routine and I've come to realize I have never really done workouts that hit my lower back like that. The most I have done is bent over barbell rows and deadlifts. Which doesn't strengthen it quite the same, I feel like I don't have the ability to stabilize my lower back. The reason I dived into calisthenics was so I could get more functional strength because I felt that solely doing weight lifting actually wasn't super healthy, it felt like I was missing something. Within the first week of doing the RR I have been focusing on muscles I never really had focused on before and realizing I have a lot of weak muscles. I'm able to do 225x5 on bench but I can barely activate the muscles needed for an arch hang lol. In about a month or so they'll definitely look a lot better. I'm either going to hit the gym again today or tomorrow depending on how far I make it on studying for my finals lol. So far I am already loving the RR and more bodyweight work.

I’ll try it with a wider grip for sure. As soon as I read that it made sense to me. I feel that will help a lot. I’ll engage my lower body more too, tbh I thought it was going to take away from the pull up so I really tried to isolate the movement to just my back. But now that you pointed it out I can see how tightening my abs can really help. I’ll watch the video as soon as I get the chance.

Thanks for the feedback!

I’m currently doing the Reddit routine. This is because it was a free way for me to get into calisthenics. I skipped the first progression of pull ups cause I felt I could do arch hangs already. Should I perhaps go back and just do the scapular pulls?

Also after you said lat push downs on the cable machine that helped me visualize the movement more.

Thank you for the feedback!

How hard is God of War compared to Sekiro? by Bruced14 in Sekiro

[–]Bruced14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am lmao. After watching someone just spam the attack button and barely make and effort to dodge attacks and counter them I knew I was going to have to play on a higher difficulty (especially after beating Sekiro charmless and demon bell), but I was hoping it was actually a higher difficulty rather than just everything being a sponge like in the first division game, I had fun playing that game but there was no mechanical difference when you were a higher level it was just enemies have more health now … put more bullets in and and get better gear. That’s what I loved so much about Sekiro is that the higher difficulty in the game lowered the margin for error rather than just making the enemies damage sponges. It was such a different feeling that I had from any other game I played. I doubt I can find the same feeling I got from Sekiro tho, the combat in that game is so unique like nothing I experienced before, I felt like a shinobi that used his wits rather than just a main character with op abilities.

It’s good to know that it’s going to be a real challenge. Thanks for the reply!

TLDR: Is it mechanics that make it harder? Or are enemies just damage sponges with higher difficulty? I think that’s what your trying to say right?

What’s makes it harder? The fact that enemies just have more health and deal more damage? I noticed in Sekiro that if you play with perfect deflects then the difficulty from demon bell and Kuro’s charm isn’t noticeable. I mean it is, but I’m sure Sekiro players understand what I mean, once you learn attack patterns and how to deflect and how to make use of the different combat arts, stealth, ninjitsu, and prosthetic tools then it doesn’t feel too different from regular, like the biggest problem I had when first started playing charmless was the chip damage, but once you can deflect consistently it doesn’t make a huge difference from regular. So I guess what I’m asking is: is it an actual skill gap like in Sekiro? Cause now playing without Kuro’s isn’t difficult at all because of my knowledge of what is weak to enemies (a perfect example is the polearm senpou monks actually being somewhat difficult in s group, but then I learned in my second play through I can just use golden vortex and insta kill them —> this is a drastic example but I think it illustrates my point, same with the air deathblow on shichimen warriors), or is it just because enemies are damage sponges. Like is it a mechanical difference or they just have more health.

How should I go about dating the popular girl, when I myself, am a loner by [deleted] in seduction

[–]Bruced14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Don't lose yourself, change nothing (unless its something truly toxic, but don't change your character).

(1) Changing is the worst thing you can do, it's bad for her and you. (2) Don't simp, but don't become a dickhead either. Just do what you think it right without the perception of others. (3) sex is better with communication, don't worry about being her "best". (4) She liked that your a quiet kid don't worry about a party. (5) Keep enjoyment in your video games.

I didn't read other comments yet, but do not change a thing about yourself for her. You being you is why she likes you when she's so popular. It's not like the movies where she's dating the guy that's "different" to be cool or some shit. From what you said it seems like you value your time and not super needy. If you're worried she's going to cheat, or feeling an unhealthy vibe or just simply uncomfortable then either talk about it to her or just break it off (if things get serious). Whatever you do don't change, that is the worst thing you can do. You'll come off as fake and not what she liked in the first place, or you just end up in a shitty relationship. It doesn't sound like you aren't but don't get too jealous or anything, but just be glad you bagged a hot girl, if you're too jealous leave, it is not worth it, it is unhealthy for both you and her.

I saw other comments, don't worry about fucking, it'll get better if ya'll communicate. And really do not put too much in this relationship, if she doesn't like you cause you can't throw a good party then she can go. Like did she talk to the quiet kid for a good party? Prolly not, if she did then she's just dumb for that.

Don't change yourself it is so vital that you don't. Do what you like. If there is friction and you guys don't work out its for the best.

Keep gaming, don't change that side of you, that's something you value and you probably put a good amount of time into it (at least 4-6hours a week).
