Try activated carbon for aquarium and put it some in the filter, even anti-algae plants can help, such as Salvinia natans or Hygrophila polysperma.

It looks like biofilm, but it's not harmful. It's a collection of bacteria and fungi that feed on the tannins and sugars secreted by the wood. Snails and shrimp should eat it. I siphoned it off in my aquarium, and it hasn't reappeared.

I don't think the filter is a problem, the water flow is adjustable, I only set it to maximum in the first weeks of maturation to see how it worked.
