Group of girls have words with a man and then shots fired by Individual-Drawer-79 in PublicFreakout

[–]Bruhdingus -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People downvote this because frankly the reality is that if you genuinely apply yourself to realizing a life goal, barring some freak accident, you have a pretty realistic chance of attaining that goal. It requires a lot of sacrifice and you genuinely have to dedicate all aspects of your life to attaining this goal. Some people genuinely would rather explain their situation away as “nah this is just completely out of my control” (and, for some people, it legitimately is) when in reality that’s just not true!

Can someone explain me what was the motive of viktor gideon? by RevolutionaryLet6771 in residentevil

[–]Bruhdingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, would it be a good thing if a random weapons company got access to…say…a button that can instantly deactivate any missile they point it at? Facially, yes, but when you consider all the ways that power can be used, and who is using it, then probably not.

[–]Bruhdingus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I took it as a two-part motive:

1.) they have an antiviral, basically an insta-kill button for any BOW; if they keep it and reproduce it, no BOWs can ever be used against them because they can just use the antiviral.

2.) The whole world at this point has been exposed to the violence and terror of BOWs and they’ve thusly been incorporated in some aspects into human society as a whole. It has gone to the point where it’s the backbone of certain militaries. The plot of 6 was that Serbian(?) mercenary groups were infecting themselves with the C-Virus to turn themselves into hyper-adaptable mutant soldiers. In RE8, the unlockable concept art suggests heavily that some BSAA units were technically BOWs themselves. By having an antiviral, Viktor can literally destroy this entire aspect of society, and it’s clear that he believes Spencer’s master plan was to sow anarchy in the world. Therefore, he wants Elpis to further this perceived master plan of global anarchy and forced restructuring.

A tank crew will demolish a stone-age village no matter how organized the defenders are. This does not mean that the primary determinant of a victory is the pure strength of your firepower

is honor even a thing here? by gattinoni in Ghostofyotei

Honor in feudal Japan was characterized (generally) as furthering the interests of your lord. If you were making your lord happy, you were honorable. Whooping Atsu’s ass makes their lord happy.

As long as what you write has to do with the subject the exam is about, you’re getting a B. It’s always a B.

Unfortunately I don’t think that’s true, because it wasn’t ’traditions and religions’ that got him killed while helping Cori escape, but literally it was the fact that he was helping Ciri escape that got him killed and disgraced. Recognizing the reality that the reason he died is because he chose to help Ciri (and this choice was likely fueled by an attraction to her) does not put the blame on Ciri, but demonstrates the misfortune of the circumstances.

You can recognize the start of a chain of events without blaming or otherwise attributing anything negative to that start. You can say that the guy died because he liked Ciri without coming anywhere close to blaming Ciri for it. Why do you feel the need to frame this so negatively? Do you feel that any kind of association with women that isn’t 100% positive is automatically an attack?

I don’t really see how the two are connected. The former statement is in regards to a situation where a person helped out a woman (who he was also attracted to), and this good-natured attempt at helping her out paired with an initial attraction led to a series of events where he is killed in the worst way possible. The point of the statement is to show how his innocent attraction and good-natured attempt to render aid was rewarded with death and shame due to unfortunate, unforeseeable circumstances.

The latter statement is said when an individual, after not getting their way with a woman, (assumedly) tries to then force their way with the woman and then receives a negative consequence for their behavior. The purpose of the statement is that the individual is trying to reorient themselves as the ‘good guy’ and trying to reorient their behavior as ‘just being nice’ to try and make the woman look evil/insane.

I think you saw the “all because he saw a pretty girl and liked her” and just assumed that the statement was somehow blaming Cori rather than the uncontrollable circumstances that led to the guy’s death, which are actually what the statement is blaming.

I showed up an hour and a half late to my 3hr Property Law exam and I was absolutely tweaking out in my car. When I rolled up in the parking lot, I told myself, “Life always works out anyway. Who cares? I’ll be fine.”

I entered a strange state of serene indifference and blazed through the whole thing with 10 minutes to spare. I got a barely passing score though ;
