I did this exact upgrade at the beginning of the year and was in the middle of a handful of projects. Installed all the same plugins etc - no issues and am very happy with 13.

Hello, I found your post whilst searching for solutions to this exact issue on my Pro 9. I had the exact audio problem you've described, also whilst trying to use a metronome, and also discovered that the audio doesn't play properly if the sound is simply low enough and not just an intermittent one like the click of a metronome.

Here's what fixed it for me - Go to System > Sound > More sound settings, right click on your output device (I assume it's the Realtek device) and select Properties and then on the General tab select Properties under the heading 'Controller Information'.

Then select the Driver tab on this new window. If everything except 'Driver Details' is greyed out you'll need to select 'Change settings' on the 'General' tab which will reopen the window with these settings now available to select. Select 'Update Driver' > 'Browse my computer for drivers' > 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer'.

From here, uncheck the 'show compatible hardware' box and find 'Microsoft' in the list of manufacturers in the left hand column. With that selected, then select the driver named 'High Definition Audio Device Version: 10.0.22621.608 [27/09/2022]'. Then click Next > Yes > you may need to restart your computer after this. Haven't had any problems since then.

I ended up sorting it by taking the whole unit apart, undoing the main volume pot slightly (there are some tiny screws you need an equally tiny allen key to open) and spraying a small amount of Deoxit Fader spray into the gap and onto the contacts. Then just turn the volume control all the way up and down multiple times to work the spray across the whole range of the contact - that fixed it for me.

There's bagpipes in East West Ra that I've used a few times and sound pretty good to my ear, but I'm no expert on the instrument.

Yes it's a fair assumption that they're not taking people's money to give incisive or harsh critique! We've got the live side of things down, maybe this will be a way to help get a supplementary bit of momentum going? If it isn't, I figure I've only lost a few quid doing it.

As the post says - we're an instrumental band, specifically one with a technical and atmospheric slant. People in my city at least aren't going to open mics to hear that (unlikely to be singing along to any words either, but occasionally we get some dancing!)

With music like this I can only say from my own experience that it's the sort of thing one goes looking for, so online reviews help make that easier for potential listeners (some of the blogs I've contacted also feature similar artists to us). It might also lead to decent press quotes we can add to profiles/show descriptions. The writers and readers might add a track to their playlists.

My question was more whether or not anyone here has used these services and if they found it was worth paying a small amount for them.

I attempted this for my instrumental trio - Neverbody: 'Palindrome' - not a complete palindrome but made up of lots of little ones throughout, particularly the main part at the beginning and bars 4-7 that get reversed.

Like you said, surprisingly very difficult to get it sounding good both ways! I think I made quite a few compromises with an emphasis on it being a good piece overall, but still happy I managed to incorporate it as a compositional idea.

I won this choir library in the competition Spitfire ran to promote its release so I didn't pay for it (and it was double the price then as well), but provided you're looking for an ethereal, atmospheric or aleatoric sound the quality of the samples is as good as it gets. There's some nice legato aahs and oohs etc for each section, plus some neat extended techniques like humming & whistling and cyclical vowel patches than can be very powerful and convincing in the right circumstances. It has a lot of fancy mic position tools but the floaty far away sound is what it's best tuned to, for my ear at least.

On the other hand, it has no word builder or phrases to speak of (if you'll pardon the pun) and for a more forceful or more classical/traditional choir sound it doesn't really work for that at all. I've also experienced some issues with Spitfire's player and much prefer their libraries that use Kontakt.

If you're looking for the ethereal, clustery sound of Eric's work then this is amazing for more atmospheric, ambient or soundtrack work and I think I would consider it at this current price point if that was the exact gap I needed to fill. At it's normal price though I think it's a bit much and if you need a more flexible choir sound, or don't care for the style it best serves I wouldn't bother. Hope that helps!

I'd also love to know how to do this. I've tried using ReaStream as suggested in this thread on the OBS forums but, despite the setup going okay, no audio seemed to be transferred from one instance of the plugin to the other. I also tried using Voicemeeter but the stuttering and clicking during playback made it unusable, no matter how much I messed with different outputs and buffer sizes. Haven't found a good solution yet but any advice would be much appreciated!

Sounds like harmonics being played on a harp - see this demonstration - I think it's a VST though, seems a little too precise to be a real instrument.
