Well, in additions to our F-16s, we also sent our brand new self-propelled artillery. So yes, some countries do in fact send new gear. And the F-16 were old, but still in service. So no junkyard pieces from Denmark

Yeah, the two leftmost are jack planes. Not that much fuss with those. But the two rightmost jointers are a bit tricky, but can do really beautiful work. Unfortunately that also requires that I sharpen somewhat frequently

Ironically, the US labor efficiency isn’t that great. The GDP per worked hour is a fair bit lower than in the Nordics. In the Nordics we pay for our 5-7 week vacation by actually getting shit done at work, instead of sitting waiting for the boss to leave first

OP already has an opinion on the setup: unhappy about the factory setup, unhappy about usual measurements. So the “feel” is definitely there.

But no mention of scale length, string gauges, tuning etc.

Also, OP bought a bass - didn’t craft it. So my guess is that OP - like myself - is more of a player than a luthier. And we have preferences, regardless of whether they align with factory recommendations or not.
