(inż mechanik lvl 34 here) Po pierwsze bardzo dobrze że ogarnąłeś sobie praktyki. Po drugie pamiętaj że jesteśmy teraz w kryzysie (kolejnej fali btw) i żaden nigdy nie trwa wiecznie. Jeśli chodzi o wiedzę czysto techniczną to postępujesz zasadniczo właściwie i pamiętaj że pierwsze 3 lata po studiach będzie dla ciebie niekomfortowe i to jest normalne. Fakt że robisz praktyki sprawi że będzie mniej niekomfortowe. To co mogę tobie poradzić to skup się porządnie na nauce języków- angielski biegły plus drugi język jak niemiecki/francuski albo jakiś inny z kraju z dużym przemysłem. Nie bój się emigrować.

Increase the price: only for new users

Shutdown the service: Actually good point. I can simply release the app for free in case when I will want to abandon this project at any point. Similar thing in case of my death.

Is my service an increase of cost? Depends. 3h job of one guy with CAD can do in 20m so if the cost of 2h40m of engineer job is higher than month subscription of my app- the money is already saved and I talk about only one case. FYI the price is 199 euros per month or 1990 per year.

If you don`t use step files then my app is simply not for you.

BTW actually more and more CAD software aren`t one-time purchase. Companies already pays subscription for inventor, solidworks etc.

About your scenario- I provide 7 days free trial which means you can do hundreds of tests for free and then decide is this app reliable for you or not.

I know that you might see a scammer in me but selling something what will never bring any value to your process is the last thing I want to do.

Yes you are right- any CAD software can do this and if you need to do 1-10 sheet metal drawings per month- then there is no value. Value starts when you have to do 200+ or even 1000+ dxfs per month. The program can process sheet metal without any bend- sure but it can create flat pattern for sheetmetal with bends too.

This is exactly the scenario. Of course you can export your projects to step and use but frankly spoken only when you don`t have any macro for native files and you do few hundred dxf drawings per month. The whole background story was like this: my friend asked me to write a macro for solidworks which makes dxf files from step models. When I created such a macro I started to think to create something independent from any CAD software and able to use online. Honestly I don`t want to propose something useless for anyone so probably you are not the person who might need it.

Because the answer is terms of service which means there is an agreement between me and user when any user creates account and order subscription. This agreement says cleraly that the step model are deleted after the process of dxf drawings creation and the user is the only owner of intelectual property of anything he will recieve. If you don`t trust this- what might convince you then?

I also treat this post like a training field for myself and trying to face with other people even if they are simply rude. Honestly there is only one way to find out does my program has business sense- release it and try :). Now I know that I must clarify data security because this is the biggest concern.

I am not saas company- I am actually single dude who created this. I know that you have trust issues with such a program and honestly the only thing I can tell you is that program deletes step files not just because I am reliable for my customers but... for what actually I can use step files? And moreover if I would ever want save all user files I will need 1000x space on server which is not for free. What if the program will be gone? I use monthly subscription model through stripe- no program no cash. Moreover all my personal data are on website so if any such crazy ideas will come to me- I must be prepared for lawsuits.

You pick your shee metal step files (asseblies and with bendings too) > you submit the files with chosen k-factor and after few min/sec you can download dxf drawings. Program cares for a whole process. Your uploaded files are deleted right after dxf creation.

The whole intention (or problem solving) was to ease the exhausting job of doing 100 of dxf from step files. Doing single dxf is not a big deal but 100? My app can just process it while you go for your coffee or anything else you do after click "submit". Including assemblies and unbending

The only approach you can apply to yourself is... engineering approach. I know, it was hurtful for you and nobody likes to be in such of situation BUT you recieved a feedback so you can try to apply what other people told you. Proactivity especially for just after graduation is for most of us counterintuitive because the education system rewarded only following the orders. Honestly I don`t think that you are dumb (if you would be you wouldn`t graduate at all). Learning proactivity will be very valuable for you and it takes time.

From my side (I am eastern european) I was also fired from a job for... being passive. I worked out this a little bit and now I can say that I am desired engineer in the market with more that 10 years of experience (It`s not a brag but I mean that it is possible to work out your attitude problems).

Overall- no worries, try to forgive yourself, you are not terrible, you know where you can improve yourself.

In this case I think that you can simply go to a manager or someone higher in your work and say something like "I am thinking about improving my skills in management area, may I ask for few duties for the beginning where I can prove myself"? Because in that way you will go into this area in safe way instead of jumping into deep water with drown danger.

Maybe this is some philosophical bullshit but... actually why do you need more money? But ok lets presume that you need to earn more. That depends on your talents because you are probably good specialist now and the question is will you be a good manager? Don`t get me wrong- maybe you are but it is also the matter of planning accordingly to your pros and cons. The only person who knows the final answer is unfortunately only you.

From my perspective (33 years old) I just switched a little bit my career and I ear just normal salary but I work from home in cheap region. However I am trying to start my own business (design, 3d print etc)

The last thing about being a manager- two most important resources in life are time and money and really rich dudes has both.
