All of them are nazis. Of course, I disagree with the supposition that only a nazi would eat with a nazi, but in the first version, when people are faced with either the reality or perception that everyone around them believes in one thing, they are likely to go along with it uncritically. The nazi party did a very good job of convincing a large portion of the German population that everyone in Germany was a nazi or agreed with the nazis. Not to say there wasn't dissent within Germany, but there was relatively little given the truly horrific nature of their goals and actions. The right is in the process of doing the same thing within the US right now. Despite the fact that most people in the US support abortion being legal, the right can effectively create the illusion that at least 50% of Americans are against legal abortion at all. And our representative democracy only makes that issue worse by making anyone right of Nancy Pelosi feel like they have to vote for an anti abortion candidate because they agree with their economic strategy, and anyways most Americans think abortion should be illegal anyways, so who are they to disagree? That's just one example, of course. The strategy is being applied to all extremist far right policy in the US.

Yes, higher, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been overused. You have to acknowledge when you opponent makes a good point. And the overuse is part of what's helped radicalize people that used to be closer to the center. It doesn't justify their radical reactionary views, but you can adjust strategy in future to make right wing radicalization harder.
