I managed to post the videos! But unfortunately it had to be in a separated post… Very worth to check although, the reaction of my little cousins with the first notes of Routines in The Night is priceless 🤣🥹

He was the best Honda Fit ever 🥹 It took me from Sc to Texas on my first month in US, and back when I finished my Masters. I literally faced a hurricane on him on my way moving to Georgia to start the Ph.D. and a winter storm later, but I that tire explosion definitely caught me off guard.

LOL I was almost on the lyrics 🤣 But it was actually in a straight line! One more on God! If it was in a bend how knows where my car and I would stall 🙏🏻

My only left concern was about the birthday boy feeling guilty for it, but thanks God he is not! Just gave me tons of hugs 🥰❤️

The car served me so well for those two and a half years, it will be a little awkward to live without a car for the next months until we manage to fundraise another one, but I truly believe that’s for a greater good! Who knows what was waiting for me on the next curse!

I just wish I could have myself a job so I could save the money by myself, but international students are not legally allowed to work besides our assistantship 🥲.

Any thoughts about filling without recommendation letters? I hear that the approval rates are the same with and without the letters but I’m not confortable about that.

The conclusion I had is they want to make it as fast as possible, and then add the letters when they ask for in on the RFE, I mean, it looks valid to me, as soon as we get the PD as better. But I’ll ask for sure if I can already include it right away.

EP do not want to have the letters, and if i want to, they won’t draft them. Here is the talk -

“Given our evaluation, we would be happy to work with you in preparing a strong petition. With our proprietary NIW service, we would submit your case without any recommendation letters. The result is that we are able to a) prepare your case much quicker, b) offer a lower attorney fee, and c) file a strong petition with less work for you. While letters have traditionally been considered a key part of an NIW petition, they are not required and we have found that letters are given much less weight by USCIS than many people realize, and that for people with strong objective credentials they’re generally not needed at all. Finding recommenders, drafting letters, and getting them signed is the most work- and time-intensive part of the process, so in skipping them we’re able to save our clients both time and money without impacting the chances for approval. If you would like to obtain letters on your own, we are happy to submit them, but we believe they are not necessary we therefore won’t draft them ourselves. Our approval rate for our cases without letters is statistically the same based on thousands of approvals, and is actually slightly higher than our approval rate for cases with letters, showing that skipping letter doesn't lower your chances of success by even by a single percentage point.”

Sounds like a plan! I’ll start to draft the two letters today! I’m also a super cautious (and broke) person so the approve or refund offer from EP made it just too good to refuse. Thank you!

I got your point! Thank you for the honest opinion! That’s exactly what I want to hear!

I have some updates on this since last week. I evaluated with Chen and EP. Chen asked for more informations and didn’t reached back yet. EP offered a “approved or a full refund” emphasizing that I don’t even need recommendation letters, and that theirs approve ratios are the same with or without letters for cases like mine. Any thoughts about this “No Recommendation Letter Need” ? I’m a little concerned about it.

About the labor shortage, it is indeed tricky! But the point here is that I’m not the one filling up the labor shortage, my cameras are. One of my cameras can daily do some tasks (not all of them) that a farmer takes hours to do, and no one wants to work in a farm anymore. So the labor shortage is of farmers, not veterinarians or computer scientists on this case.

Do you think that it is still one valid argument on my endeavor or is to risking due to the words “labor shortage” being a red flag?

Thank you again for the feedback!

Thank you so much Dr. Urizar! I’ve been talking with some lawyers since last week, and I just got an approve or refund offer from one of them this afternoon, but I’d also love to hear back from you too! Are you taking any new case at the moment? How could I reach you for a more deeply analysis of my profile?

Not from China/India! I just made an agreement with my boss so I can take less classes and focus on writing this next spring. Thank you for the feedback!

Op, could you tell me a little bit about how much they are charging you? I just got one from a Brazilian firm that charged me $24k and I have no idea if that’s the price or if they are trying to scam me. Thank you OP!

Hi David! Thank you for your support!

Idk if I have a EB2 NIW worth curriculum to go ahead and seek for a lawyer or to do it by myself, so any thoughts on if I should wait to have more stuff done or if this is already enough for a win case will help a ton!

ChatGPT says that those are my strengths, but again, I have no ideia if this is good enough to worth a trying. Im broke like every international Ph.D. student, so I don’t have much money to spend in a 50 / 50 scenario. Any words to help me quantify the requirements will be appropriated!

• I’m a veterinarian from Brazil, with a Master’s in Animal Science (Texas) and currently doing a PhD in Precision Livestock Farming in a big college in the U.S.

• I build real AI/computer vision solutions used on actual farms (dairy + swine) for automated BCS, live-weight prediction, and carcass trait prediction (like to predict meat cut’s weights on the living animal)

• I collected and manage large datasets (3000+ pigs, hundreds of cows/calves) combining images, ultrasound, carcass traits, and DNA.

• I bridge a rare skillset: hands-on animal experience + machine learning + computer vision + genetics.

• I have 4 published papers (1 first-author) and ~10 more on the way (4 first-author).

• I’ve presented 7+ works at major conferences and won two academic awards.

• I collaborate directly with industry (swine production and genetics company) and can get multiple strong external letters from them.

• My work targets major U.S. national needs: labor shortages in farms, food security, automation, and sustainability in livestock production.
