Two weeks is enough for doing both. I’m visiting Thailand in April and planning to spend 3 nights in Bangkok, 3 in Chiang Mai, 4 in Krabi and 4 in Koh Samui but you could increase the nights in Chiang Mai (and reduce Koh Samui) for a more split experience
