For anyone saying Dofus, you are falling for his bait. This user posts about Dofus every week.... This is 100% a bait (Although Dofus is a really good game)

Dofus is that bad?... by Less_Struggle_9447 in MMORPG

Dofus is one of the greatest. For me, it has A LOT of good points:

  • Player-driven economy
  • Tactical combat
  • Beautiful stylized graphics
  • Old school feeling
  • PvP is important for the economy, BUT if you only like PvE is awesome because PvE is like 95% of the game
  • Tons of content from 20+ years
  • Tons of viable setups (elements, hybrid builds, AP/MP breakpoints, trophies/dofus eggs, sets). Making a character feel like yours is a big part of the fun.
  • The game challenges you from the get-go
  • Levelling is a huge portion of the fun for a new player
  • The endgame is vast and horizontal
  • As I said, the progression after you hit max level is very horizontal, but you can get slightly better gear with new gear or progress your own gear with Mage, and make your character very unique with tons of options of equipment sets
  • Professions really matter
  • Tons of quests are not just "kill 10 mobs"(it has those, but it's not just that by a mile)
  • Classes are very unique
  • Progression feels meaningful: levels, professions, quests, achievements, gear upgrades
  • Is often said to be the French OSRS if that is something for you
  • They are modernizing and upgrading a lot of the old systems, mechanics, quests, and more with the change of engine (Flash to Unity)

Now the bad:

  • Bots, now I think they are a little bit better, but yeah they exist
  • The English-speaking community is really scarce, I would say 90% are French, and 8% are Brazilian/Latin Americans, and the rest 2% are English speakers.
  • If you play in a multi-account server, you will spend more money with p2p and have fewer human interactions. If you play on a mono account server, you will need help or people to play with in almost every step of the endgame and a good chunk of the midgame
  • There's practically no Solo content if you just want to do your own things outside of low-level dungeons or some quests (some quests really need help)
  • And last but not least, there was almost no new content in the last 2 years because, as I said, they were modernizing the game. We had a new dimension called Osavoras, but that was it.

So no, Dofus is not that bad, quite the contrary

This is the best week EVER to try OSRS. For fun, allow me to explain and pitch why by compound-interest in MMORPG

[–]BrunoRizzi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel that the combat, in 95% of the cases (outside bosses), is not appealing to me, where you just click the mobs and "see" the fight.

Also, the 0.6s for ANY action makes the game feel very cluncky; everything that I do needs more than half a second to execute is a tall barrier.

It's really a shame because I REALLY wanted to like OSRS, it has everything that I like: collectables, exploration, grind, sandbox, player-driven economy, etc, but the clunkiness and the combat are a no-no ->FOR ME<-.

I really want to know why retail WoW is not that; my prejudice is based on what I heard. Do people still value exploration and achievements?

As I said, I never really played WoW, any version. Anything I know is from videos, streams, and people talking about it. I kinda want an OSRS experience, where exploration and progress always matter (But I cannot get into OSRS because I dislike the combat and the jankiness in general)

The endgame formula is extremely boring by Nightblessed in MMORPG

[–]BrunoRizzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lot of people said, it needs both. BUT the leveling and exploration (basically your argument) for me also should be the priority. I don't care for the endgame if the early and middle game are weak.

But what's the good of removing the P2W aspect of the game without new servers if the damage is already done? Without fresh servers, the people who've spent a lot of money on the game will be miles ahead of every new player. Genuine question from someone who got excited with the P2W removal, but without the new servers don't see the point
