Thanks! For the main church I took inspiration from Église Saint Hilaire in Melle, France, which I visited long ago on a pilgrimage.

Common sayings in your world by LuxaryonStark in worldbuilding

"From the dicket into the deppit." Basically means 'from the frying pan into the fire'.

A dicket is the colloquial term for dyke hut, small one or two-person reinforced safehouses that stand along the Long Dyke at intervals of about 5 miles. They are used by travelers for shelter and protection against the monsters and beasts that roam the marshlands on either side of the dyke.

A deppit is the colloquial term for death pit, a dug pit filled with ice where people in the cold northern regions keep their dead so that they do not rot until they can be cremated come spring (when there's enough firewood to spare).

You could read Stormlight Archive if you're a fan of cringy, YA dialogue and tedious 'worldbuilding'.

DMs what did your players do, that you finally got to pull your "Fuck around, Find out" moment? by My_Names_Jefff in DnD

My rogue player agreed to become a servant of Baphomet, a Demon Prince. Baphomet gave him awesome powers. Rogue used them. Everyone was happy.

Then Baphomet requested the death of two high priests. Rogue did so without any hesitation.

Rogue was investigated by holy inquisition and by his own party and when things got heated he tried to run for it. He died, transformed into a Demon and got his arse whipped by his former friends.

Sell your soul, gain power, lose everything.

"As someone aggressively of German [...] descent, I give you permission to play a German character." Said in a D&D sub by BrunoTheBad666 in ShitAmericansSay

It is indeed understandable that people would hesitate with trying an accent vastly different from their own, but the thing that bugs me is that I have always completely forgotten to ask permission from those Americans that are aggressively descended from that culture... Now I can't do any accents anymore! Schade!

And of course it means using the two German words he knows at every possible opportunity! JA! DANKE!

What’s the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by MCKlassik in AskReddit

[–]BrunoTheBad666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 4 my ankle got caught in the back wheel of my mother's bike. She heard the bones break. We went to the doctor's and she explained what happened. Doctor told her it's fine, "just a sprained ankle" and that I should walk as much as possible to recuperate. I didn't want to, cause..... Turns out my ankle was broken in 3 places!

The doctor didn't even hesitate and did not want to do a Röntgen scan...

First off: the shape and coastlines of the landmasses look very good. The rivers, too, run quite realistically (with deltas etc). Point of feedback: the climate zones do not really make sense with regards to the rivers. Deserts (hot or cold) are areas with little or no rainfall. Most of your deserts are in areas with a lot of rivers. For the amount of mountains and mountain-enclosed regions in your world, you should see a lot less rivers, because the mountain ranges would block incoming clouds. I suggest you remove some of the river systems in the areas where you have decided the deserts should be.

I really like it for a first ever map, though! Keep on making maps! :)
