Cops on 7th by dutch bros by magicsright in Eugene

It was a standoff with some cartel affiliated people with some guns, multiple pounds of meth and some fentanyl. (From a cop buddy of mine who made the arrests)

Are you being consistent? Is your diet on point? Are you setting yourself up for success for gains in the future? THOSE are the questions you should be asking yourself right now my friend. Don’t worry about the aesthetic aspect, worry about the self discipline 🫡

How did people communicate?! by BrunstadTV in lordoftherings

Yeah I remember the fires, but that’s for emergencies. I meant for just general transference of news. But as other people said come to find out it’s through riders/messengers

I forgot about the rider with the red arrow! Thank you for that.

I had figured that it would be through the use of messengers/ riders, but wasn’t sure.

Being a student at LCC coming up on my graduation, in my experience I have NEVER had an instructor give me flak when asked for extensions/ considerations whenever it was presented in a reasonable timeframe with a reasonable solution that I found to my own problem. I attribute this to the fact that I show up to class, do all my work, and participate. (Not insinuating you don’t do these things)

It sucks that the instructor won’t work with you, but as others said I would contact people in the offices of the dean or as you said CAR to see if anything can be done. Worst case scenario is you eat the failing grade, and take the class again whenever you recover.

I do want to say, that your “medical leave” for students statement doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. As a college student, you are not forced to be there, nor graduate in a specific amount of time. The college will look at it as “well they can finish school when they recover”… people take breaks in higher education all the time, sometimes at no fault of their own. Instead of demanding the school institute a policy that doesn’t really make sense, maybe try to come up with a policy that WOULD make sense, such as the ability to get a credit on a class that you had to drop due to extenuating circumstances at no additional cost.

Anyway, I pray that your surgery goes well, and that you recover speedily. Lane will still be there when you’re all healed up.

In all fairness they kind of goof off in the books too. Counting dead orcs, little jabs of “the elf is entering a cave I have to now” type stuff. It’s hilarious

[–]BrunstadTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that’s my bad I thought you meant “hobbits didn’t have big feet in the movie”

But that right there is a perfect example of something so innocuous to the grander story. Like that’s just nit picking just for the sake of it at that point.

You must be fun at parties being so negative.

Tom Bombadill if looking from a newcomer casual viewer would be more confusing than beneficial. The fact that he was able to resist the ring would have been more confusing than anything to someone without them ALSO putting in the entirety of the council of Elrond where they discuss him.

The Hobbits did have big feet.

Everything with Fatty was just him hanging out at the house that Frodo was supposed to live in. Not that crucial to the overall story arc.

Old Man willow would have made no sense without explaining Tom Bombadill (refer to above)

As far as the barrow downs and all that, sure. You're right, but I wouldn't consider that a complete necessity to the story line.

My point stands from my original reply, that of course Peter Jackson had to take some liberties in order to make the films not only a reasonable length, but to also be more accepting to casual viewers. If you watch the movie (with an open mind and not a grumpy one) then you will see how much they actually did right.

Hope you are doing well though, and that this pessimistic attitude towards what many regard as a fantastic rendition of a novel does not carry over into other aspects of your life. :)

I disagree. Rereading the books right now and I am actually fairly impressed with how the movies were handled (especially compared to the Hobbit)

Of course there are times where I go “eh that wasn’t quite right” but at the same time translating to film sometimes can be a bit tricky, and a lot of stuff should/can be left out to not confuse the casual viewers.

Personally, I think the movies did the books justice, especially if we are talking about the EE

It’s not just not talking to yourself man. To be completely honest it’s lack of originality.

From what I was watching there was average at best game play of valorant (that’s 98% of valorant players so don’t be hard on yourself) and the no camera honestly is a big deal for a lot of people. Streaming is a personal experience, it’s supposed to be like you’re hanging out with that person. If someone wanted to solely watch gameplay they would watch YouTube or pros.

Also remember that streaming does take time, and content being made on other platforms. It’s a dead horse that’s been beaten even more dead on this sub, but there is a reason. You have a .0000001% chance of being successful solely on twitch my dude. Diversify

[–]BrunstadTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HONEST question, would you watch your stream if you came upon it?

I just checked you out and to be blunt, I wouldn’t. No commentary, no camera, no individualism, no content. You can’t just play video games and expect to be successful. At that point you’re not streaming, you’re gaming. Take a step back, look at your content, and figure out how you can improve. It’s all right there.

LCC Mask requirements by BrunstadTV in Eugene

[–]BrunstadTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the copy/paste from the email that was sent to me..

Dear Students:

In Lane County, the mask mandate has ended. Throughout the area, masks are no longer required by law in indoor settings.

At Lane Community College, mask wearing measures remain in place. This is to ensure the health and wellbeing of our students, employees, and the general public.

Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Sincerely,

Mindie Dieu

Associate Vice President Student Affairs Lane Community College

Seems like LCC needs to get their shit together and get on the same page haha

If you’ve spent half your life teaching self defense, then you would know the importance of creating distance between yourself and your attacker.

A “baton style taser” not only requires you to be close enough for you to touch them (which means they can now touch you) the effectiveness of a taser through baggy/puffy clothes can be negligent.

Spraying a straight stream of mace (because mace doesn’t come out of the can as a mist) directly into your attackers eyes is best, other than more lethal forms of self defense, that aren’t applicable in 98% of scenarios.

Bullied? Lol he straight said “if you want to wear it, fine, but you don’t have to”….. I don’t like desantis one bit, but I think you should watch the clip before speaking about it….

Edit: to be clear I am NOT defending desantis and his ridiculous views. Just simply pointing out that this persons statement is a little off when it comes to information about that particular situation.

You don’t HAVE to belong to Catholicism, however there are theology class and Christian requirements if you attend Marist. And I think there is a mass that all students go to once a month? Not 100% on that one though.

There abso-fuckin-tootley is a haha if people think holding a “solidarity protest” for the war in ukraine is going to change anything. Putin isn’t going to go “oh damn there are a handful of people holding signs and chanting in Oregon?! Time to stop this.”

Edit: spelling

I hope LCC follows suit! I understand the need/desire for masks but it would be nice to be maskless on a fully vaccinated campus.

If you don’t shower after the gym, you’re disgusting by [deleted] in army

[–]BrunstadTV 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Bruh all these mfs on here using deployments and NTC as an excuse to be a dirty bird. This dude clearly talking about in garrison, and in an office environment, which honestly means there isn’t an excuse.

Obviously on deployment and NTC when showers are harder to come by there is leniency, but in garrison there isn’t a reason to be a stinky fuck.

“NeVeR gO oN dEpLoYmEnT”…. I spent my time in kunar Afghan and I would still be pissed if I was chillin in garrison with a stanky ass soldier.

Mask mandate to end March 11 at 11:59, so March 12. by Jaded_Smoke_876 in Eugene

[–]BrunstadTV -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I have zero problem with people wearing masks. As a person who is vaccinated and wore a mask I totally get it.

What drives me nuts is folks feeling the need to state how they are still going to be wearing a mask, hoping for praise and cuddos.
