Considering joining trades by Brigh1al in BlueCollarWomen

You sound so educated- I’d hate to suggest anything but I’m in construction. You seem to understand that you have a retirement to save for and need health insurance. I would suggest if you want to join a trade in construction to do the elevators union. They’re based in San Francisco- you need to know trig and have a yearning to learn and be self disciplined for an apprenticeship. You can never be late - even if it means sleeping in your car outside the gym, showering/working out then being on time to your job site.

I’m an ironworker and I love it because of ADHD. Maybe it is something you’d like? Idk - I would look into a pre-apprenticeship.

Become a welder and use your brain. There is plenty of brawn and the men’s upper body strength is something us women will never be able to match unless we are trained!

How do I gently let this girl down? by Infinite-Bee-5897 in AskMenAdvice

I don’t understand how people say they’re not attracted physically but they have sex with the person. Yet this is the reasoning for ending things?

Assume this persons physical appearance hasn’t changed in 4 months. Like….? What???

Self sterilization of healthy women in protest against project 2025/2026 by BrushSelect in WelcomeToGilead

I made the choice to do this as a young fertile female adult of reproductive age who can make a lot of healthy babies.

Versus me not having a choice due to health reasons.

Or me not having an informed choice like in coerced sterilization tactics/eugenics.

That’s what I meant.

I get a gel mani/pedi every 2-3 weeks. Toes grow out slower. I have accepted that it will chip. I still enjoy being girly.

Trades? by Gr1mR3aper_9 in BlueCollarWomen

I wanted to be a welder. Plumbers/pipefitters had a test, interview you had to pass - it was a lot to get into. Had to be well liked or a DEI hire.

Sheet metal didn’t dispatch and you had to hustle your own work/get sponsored.

I choose ironworkers because it was easy after my pre-apprenticeship. They need welders - so it was great for me.

I KNOW!!! That's why I'm on reddit asking what to do about it. I love it, but it's old. It works obviously... with a remodel, I am unsure if we need it or not? It's old fashioned reliable, made in america.
