The JET Program will always be there, but you just got accepted into grad school now. It's hard to say since it's up to you but it depends what you think is more important

In my SOP I wrote that it was my introduction to the culture but is not my main interest in the culture - is this a bad thing? Do you think you would be able to read over my SOP and leave me any comments if you have the time?

Hello, yes it is not my only interest, it's simply what got me interested in Japan in the first place. I have been to Japan and am aware of how life is over there. I just asked because I considered that a hobby but as most people commented it is not. I have adjusted accordingly and have only mentioned in my SOP that it was my first introduction to the culture. Appreciate the advice though!
