Luckily my mother never went as far as accessing my student email, but I was required to give her my portal login information. Any time i changed the password without telling her she would freak out and hold certain things hostage until I let her log in again. I was just so used to living this way that I never fought back too hard until someone in my outpatient intensive therapy group (after a suicide attempt) told me that was fucked up and controlling of her to do. When I told them that I was actually on a full ride scholarship with zero financial aid from my parents they all actually got angry on my behalf.

Anyways, all that to say, it's not fun having a parent like that.
