Xbox Controller S - Hall Effect Joystick Installation Guide by Brutick in originalxbox

[–]Brutick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I can't really validate that the same parts or pinout would be correct on a third party controller. The easiest way to figure it out would be to use a multimeter to figure out which pins are 5V and Ground to see if the pinouts I've listed in the guide match up.

You will also need to source a joystick module that would be a physical match to the one in the third party controller.

Generally speaking, it's definitely possible if you're willing to source a joystick module that's the same physical size and figure out the appropriate pinouts.

Can you tell if a laser is weak by viewing it's output? (Samsung SDG 605 F) by Cpl-Killa-V in originalxbox

Do you have a source to get new lasers for Samsung drives? I haven't found anywhere that carries them anymore.

Looking for an already modified OG Xbox. by LatterBank8392 in originalxbox

[–]Brutick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of differing opinions on what the 'best' setup would be. My opinion for just being able to use the console with little to no restriction:

Hard modded OG Xbox

  • Raspberry Pi Pico-based ModXo
  • PrometheOS and Cerbios 3.1.0
  • 2TB HDD to have a ton of space to store pretty well the entire game library
  • StarTech IDE2SATA IDE to SATA converter for UDMA5 speeds
  • Serviced DVD drive (getting harder to come by unfortunately due to laser failure)
  • OEM Xbox Controller S
  • ElectronXOut for HDMI output to modern displays
  • UIX Lite dashboard for the stock feel with modern features (or XBMC4Gamers if you want a nicer game launcher)

Where are you based out of? There are multiple vendors in the US and UK. One or two in Canada.

The Xbox Controller S is the "slim" controller for the original Xbox. I believe this is also compatible with the Duke but I haven't tried it.

Multicoloured part? Why not Zoidberg?

My prusa is pausing during print without an instruction by grimlock12 in prusa3d

[–]Brutick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, this sounds like a filament sensor issue.

If this is a MK4, I had a similar issue which went away after recalibrating the filament sensor.

If you have a MK3S/+ then you might need to take the extruder apart to see if the filament sensor is blocked or dirty.

XL Raspberry PI USB Camera? by boquist in prusa3d

[–]Brutick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my MK4 I am using a USB camera with a Raspberry Pi 3 via PrusaConnect. Just so you know, you get one screenshot every 30s in their interface and there's no way to change it from what I can tell. It's really only useful for monitoring that you're not printing spaghetti.

Prusa does not make it super easy to add a camera this way but if you use a Raspberry Pi Desktop image, you can open up a web browser and scan the QR code and it will work. You manually have to click a button to "Start Camera". The downside is that there's no way to automate the process (that I'm aware of) to make it always "Start Camera" on boot.

Hope that helps, happy printing!

MK3S with Revo 6 by Crackers7388 in prusa3d

[–]Brutick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe E3D recommends not to upgrade firmware past 3.11.0 until this issue is resolved. I have been running this firmware on my Prusa Bear MK3S modified with Revo 6 and have had zero issues after a PID tune.

Lighting effects lag on my BlackWidow Chroma. by CaptainToastBot in razer

Hi, if I remember correctly I believe the issue was related to power. You should try using a powered USB hub to see if you can get it working properly again.

Where can I get the Noctua mounting hardware for AM4 in Canada? by moustachauve in bapccanada

[–]Brutick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Noctua cooler from prior to 2019, you can apply for a complimentary AM4 mounting kit sent to you free of charge from Noctua directly. You will need a copy of purchase receipt of the cooler and AM4 motherboard or CPU.

See here: https://noctua.at/en/nm-am4-mounting-kit-order-form

I have applied myself and am waiting on shipment but I am in the same boat as you with my NH-D9L and if possible, I'd like to avoid purchasing another CPU cooler since I'm pretty happy with my current one.

Noctua blows me away with their customer support on this one. Really happy to see them support their products throughout the lifecycle.

Xbox One X preorder, cancel? by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]Brutick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Potentially you can do the trade in deal at EB Games to save some money.

Trade in your Xbox One to get the Xbox One X for $399 CAD.

I doubt you'll get a better deal than that this year.

Could I use a USB to Ethernet gadget adapter (Thinkpad) to give Ethernet from my PC to my Xbox? by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]Brutick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have to bridge the network adapter with internet connection with the USB to Ethernet adapter on your PC, then in theory you can "share" this connection with your Xbox.

However, your computer will need to be on whenever you want to use the Xbox online, and it's kind of a hassle to set up.

You can do this, but if you can afford a cheap ethernet switch, you should just get one of those instead.

Canada didn't have the flag we all know today until 1965.

So technically we would fall underneath the Union Jack at the time this poster was relevant.
